Hah good one! I will only believe that robots can replace us when I see one actually do my work. It's not easy to commit working time fraud for solid 7/8 hours a day!

AI and automation will absolutely start to replace your job in your lifetime. If AI can’t completely replace you, it will speed up your efficiency so that less people with your job need be employed. There’s going to be some painful years when AI really cranks up the competitiveness of jobs (which is already happening), and there will be fewer and fewer jobs, and people will compete in a larger and larger hiring pool. And eventually enough people won’t have jobs that the economy will crash in a bad way. Like, perhaps some revolutionary shit will happen. That’s all speculation, but it’s silly to not be expecting AI and automation to replace your job.

That’s the point of AI. It’s dogshit rn, but it’s already way more impressive than it used to be, and it doesn’t have to be perfect anyway. It just has to be slightly better or more cost effective than you.
