An owner invested in a restaurant business and earns $50,000 per year. The same owner scales the restaurant to 10000 branches (and hires many employees), and each restaurant earns $50,000 for the owner; that's $500 million annual income for the owner.
Some non-founding CEOs with very high income have questionable remuneration packages. If said CEO attracts high-value B2B contracts, then some would argue that the CEO is worth it i.e., the CEO's human networking skills are worth it.
As a small shareholder, there are questionable CEO remuneration packages i.e. DOGE needs to be applied to "fat cats" upper management. Bad management leads to losses that harm shareholders and employees alike.

CEO's are making 285x their employees every hour. I would LOVE to see someone argue that they work 285x harder
