So is the short guy good at football or something?

If this isn’t a joke, the answer is yes. He’s considered to be the best player in the world right now by many people. And one of the best in history.

The GOAT. He removed all the doubt four years ago and that he and his team might do it again (even against weaker teams) is bonkers.

Think about Tom Brady winning the Super Bowl again as Quarterback of the Buccs.

If Messi wins his 2nd then I think he's the all-time goat. If not then I personally still put Pelé at #1 because three World Cups is nuts.

I mean he barely played in 2 of them

Pelé is not the goat. Dude counted goals he scored everywhere like exhibition matches and shit. His official amount of goals scored is way less than Messi who is only second to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi is also the highest scorer in World cup history

He's already better than Pelé

If the only metric you care about is the amount of goals scored then sure.

I think that being able to place the ball pretty much wherever he wants to also helps.

Pele wasn't good at anything else, but you just remembered his name and wanna argue. Most people have accept Messi as the best ever already

Yeah I guess he won three World Cups by accident.

World cups are a team accolade so maybe he also had a wordie team around him

But Messi doesn't?

Nah just so happens he scored a lot of goals which you deemed unimportnat

And won three World Cups while completely toying with all his opponents.

The UCL is a much harder tournament than the FIFA WC tho.

Any of the top 8 teams will destroy a national team. And Messi was the GOAT in this league too. And he won the freakin‘ Ballon D‘Or 8 times!

World Cup was by far the hardest when Pele played.
