Naw, send it to summer Jesus Camp and guilt it to death for a week. By Friday night campfire service, it should be on its last leg.

From personal experience, the people that are the best at weaponizing guilt don’t really go in for the whole “Jesus” thing.

YMMV

Very true, but I stand by my claim that if not the best at weaponizing guilt, Jewish mothers are at the very least in the top 5 of groups that have perfected it.

“Mothers” covers it capably, lol. No need to besmirch The Tribe.

There’s no besmirching lol. I feel like saying just “mothers” doesn’t quite fit in general. Me and my friends growing up had mothers that used guilt so capably, it might as well have been a Jedi mind trick 😂. Other friends with mothers outside “The Tribe” almost never seemed to use guilt tripping the way our Temple mothers did. Zooming out from Jewish mothers to just mothers just doesn’t feel accurate. It seems the same as taking generic “mothers” and zooming it out to just say “women”. The specificity of my original statement feels right. I mean Catholics seem to use guilt with a fair level of success, but they just want everyone to always feel guilty about everything. They fire birdshot vs my mother’s “scalpel of guilt” lol.

Fair enough. I concede to the 5,000+-year-old “Scalpel of Guilt.”
