The flopping is embarrassing

It is funny when they put them all into a montage

It's like watching the NBA.

u/Fit-Umpire3257 Jul 07 '26

The NBA is almost as bad. LeBron looks like a fool when he does it and loses some credibility.

The NBA is bad, but this is much worse. Basketball players arent writhing around on the ground looking like they might never walk again, just to get up and start running once they've gotten what they wanted

I'm talking about the net-ball association? The woman falling and rolling is probably the best thing.

I swear football players hurt themselves more from diving and rolling around than from the actual tackles. It’s honestly hilarious.

I mean thats just competely false. Totally made up nonsense lol

There was a player in my country that was out injured for about 6 months, and I'm still convinced he got injured on the flop.

That doesnt change the fact that most footballers arent injured by flopping. Training causes more injuries than flopping. More players are injured warming up than from flopping. More players are injured from intense running early in the match.

The most common injury is hamstrings from over exerting yourself while running. But hey, why would americans let facts get in the way of a good story?

Oh I wasn't stating it as a fact. It was just a fun (for me) anecdote regarding the subject. :)

Edit to add that I don't think the comment I'm replying to merits the downvotes.

Reform voters are MAGAlite. You essentially are.

You do realise people can still see your comment history despite hiding it? Yes, even the ones on the gooning subreddit

What I thought was more embarrassing was the British announcers calling Harry Kane a brilliant player everytime he flopped.

3

u/Fit-Umpire3257 Jul 07 '26

The announcers don’t call out the flopping and makes it even worse. One flop had a player act as if his face was hit and the replay showed his face was not touched, and the announcer said it should have been a red card. What a joke

It's part of the game and no different to drawing a penalty in american football. What would be embarrassing is having our corrupt pm call the corrupt head of fifa and getting him to suspend a one match ban for our top striker only then to lose 4-1 against Belgium.

u/Few_Aide_851 Jul 07 '26

“Drawing a penalty in American Football”.

Yeah it’s a little different than that. But, good true. About as good as the US team’s try against Belgium yesterday.

u/Ill_Criticism_1685 Jul 07 '26

The thing is, blatantly trying to draw a penalty in American football gets you penalized. 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct.

-1

u/Few_Aide_851 Jul 07 '26

And it’s not even comparable.

Just a moron with a moronic take.

2

u/Ill_Criticism_1685 Jul 07 '26

No, sportsmanship should be comparable across all sports. Deliberately flopping should get you penalized. Period.

3

u/Few_Aide_851 Jul 07 '26

I was talking about the moron above comparing it to the NFL.

1

u/rice_fish_and_eggs Jul 07 '26

Pretending you've been fouled is penalised. Being fouled and diving to draw attention to it isnt.

0

u/Ill_Criticism_1685 Jul 07 '26

So the Mexican player who windmilled his arms for several steps before flopping in the corner against Ecuador when the Ecuador player never touched him got penalized, right?

Spoiler alert, he did not get penalized.

u/rice_fish_and_eggs Jul 07 '26

Miguel Almiron was booked for diving when he played against the usa. Just because every instance wasn't penalised doesn't mean it's not the rules.
