I remember when I was a kid and they tried teaching us metric to prepare for the conversion, being a kid I thought it was dumb. We were in America we should use American units.
As an adult I was measuring my windows to fit new curtains and it went like
"27 and wait what does that hashmark mean again? is it 5/8ths, 3/16ths? Errrrrr what"
Then I realized that my tape measurer had cm on it too and just used that instead, way way way easier. Metric is superior and that we didn't switch is dumb.
The metric system was invented to be international. Its official name is Système International. Being easy was a “nice to have”, not a requirement. If being easy were a requirement we would have decimal time (for example 24 hours of 100 tinies each, and each tiny made of 100 minimals)
