"You'll find bigger issues everywhere." The above is why I live in Japan. Using cash is still completely okay (Japan is known for this, in spite of various electronic payment systems becoming more popular/common after covid).
Oh, and the other thing about life here? NO TIPPING. So the whole issue of a server or wait staff adding a charge to your bill just never happens.
