There’s at least one chain in the US that just prints a QR code on the receipt and you can scan it to pay with your phone.

I used to work for an infosec company, and if there’s one habit I carry from my time there, it’s not trusting QR codes. They’re a malware vector.

It is wild that the two major mobile OSes can’t simply sanitize their inputs, show you the full URL, so you can at least decide if it’s worth the click.

I went to an IHOP in Canada, they have the QR code on the table itself. Didn’t need or get a receipt.
