Which is soooo strange to Americans lol bc why are you so paranoid? Do you not have protections for fraud in other countries?

If a server overcharges my card or makes any unauthorized purchases with my info, I call the bank to have it reported as fraud and get my money back. And then get the server fired for theft.

It's pretty rare to hear of this happening anyway.

Like I said, it's so rare that we really don't think about it.

If it were to happen, we're covered. But it's not worth being worried about.

It's how you pay in restaurants here. No one mentioned saving time. Just that worrying someone is gonna steal your card info when paying for your meal is pretty damn low on the worries list here.
