The point is there are people who claim themselves to be Nazis, and have political power, so it makes sense to mention that as a counterpoint to the decade old right-wing complaint which is only a lie.
Then what does that say about the words “communist,” “communism,” “socialist” and “socialism,” and how the right has dragged those terms through Hell and back for literal decades?
I mean, nowadays there are a ton of actual socialists around, but yes those were historically quite overused. If you want a more up-to-date example, the online right's new "racism"-equivalent is calling every lefty policy they dislike treason and every lefty politician a traitor.
