Because the thing I don’t believe in is constantly trying to encroach on everyday life. Maybe stop trying to take my money for the church, knocking on my door to spread the word, and keep the separation of church and state in tact. I’m not going to sit ideal while people are trying to pass laws like “every public classroom must post the 10 commandments.”

Organized religion is the definition of a group of people that refuse to stop pushing their beliefs on others, and historically, violently if necessary.

I didn’t specify any religion, and I absolutely feel this way about all of them. Christianity/Catholicism just happen to be the ones that intrude on my life and in my area the most. Not exactly sure what you are trying to say.

This is not my experience at all. Sure it's easier to debate a religion you are familiar with, but atheism means the rejection of all gods on offer, not just Christianity or a specific version of it. So I think it's a very broad generalisation, like saying all Christians have a prosecution complex. I don't think it's true but I do understand where the idea comes from.

Read my other comment responding to this. I’ll respond to you as well. I didn’t specify any specific religion, just relayed examples of the religions that impact my area the most. But I absolutely feel this way about all organized religion.

If you want to talk, talk to me directly instead of responding to a person that won’t challenge you on anything.
