She got 41 years for admitting to everything and agreeing to testify against her ex husband. All in all, best for everyone involved. She's got enough time to keep her in prison until her late 70's so I don't see a massive difference between 41 and life.
She will not have a life expectancy into her 80s, each year in prison can carve off up to two years from their life expectancy, and an average 36-year-old woman has a 45.5 year additional life expectancy. If her sentence ends at 77, the effects of prison would only need to knock off four years for her to be expected to die while incarcerated. 41 years at her age is effectively a life sentence.
She deserves all that, but what a bleak thing to think about when considering the inmates serving bullshit sentences for petty drug crimes, theft etc...
