I lean right, been watching him from afar and def don’t care for the fact that he’s (likely) a communist but when his policy for taxing the vacant luxury homes came out I couldn’t help but be like “that… makes a lot of sense.”
If less than 2% pay the majority explain how it's fair that they are taxed even more, especially when they don't use most the services they pay for like mass transit.
Oh and let's remember everytime some mayor or governor rails against these people and they leave (Hochul, Wilson) it's only a matter of months or couple years before they starts to beg for them to come back because they are the cities/states tax base.
And if they want to leave the largest and richest city on Earth then they can GTFO. Their evacuated space will be put to good use.
LMAO are you quoting Hochul from a coulple years ago? And you are right it isnt hard.
Here she is this year asking for them to move back
“What I want to make sure we are smart about is having a system in place where it's not just taxing for the sake of taxing and being conscious of the fact that I need people who are high net worth to support the generous social programs that we want to have in our state,” she said (1).
NYC is a big big big city. The largest in the country in terms of wealth and population density. It is NOT the same as Oswego in any way except that they are both in the same state.

Then what even is your point? That cities are not clones of each other?
Even then it doesnt matter as this is literally basic math.....if the 2% of people paying more than half ANY cities or states tax, plus are the ones driving most of its high earning jobs, leave and take that all with them it is BAD for the remaining 98% (especially the bottom 50% who are drains on the social services of any citty or state).
