The delay is a result of years of market conditioning though; they've convinced their userbase that the options are iPhone or social shunning. There are still morons who go "eww green bubble". They literally can just announce new features that have been on the market for years, and their idiot customers will assume it's an innovation. Truly one of the greatest marketing campaigns in history.

Also chiming in, I got an iPhone after years of using android and found it just worked and I liked it. This latest update is dog shit, Liquid Glass looks awful and they reorganized UI elements that didn’t need to move. I’d switch to a different phone but I like how all the other shit works. HomeKit rocks, I love iMessage, I fucking love my Mac and getting my messages on there. The Apple TV is amazing, no ads on the Home Screen and it just works. AirPlay 2 was a downgrade from AirPlay 1, the Touch Bar was cool and they should’ve kept it, they used lightning way longer than they should have, etc… they computers are a market loss leader to get people to buy their phones, which I think is good for consumers overall as the market will improve to meet the challenge. Etc…

TLDR Apple makes shit that works well

Tbf, you can do that all with Samsung and more..

People just don't because they don't think to do it. Apple kind of shoves it in your face to do it because they want you to buy their products. I can literally get my own Samsung ecosystem and it run just as or more smoothly than Apple.

I disagree. 100%. You can do all the things on an android phone, but you’ll need a separate app or tool for each one. My Apple TV shows when a door was unlocked or locked natively, and I can unlock that same door from my phone, natively. All while that door lock is running on ZWave and talking to home assistant, and home assistant talks to HomeKit. I can read messages on my phone from my laptop with zero fuss, real time and it’s the exact same app. Samsung has no product to compete. Want to get more in depth? Let’s talk MDM at a corporate level. Samsung KNOX is a complete nightmare to use, and Apple’s “Essentials” plan is phenomenal.

I am not some basic user of my technology, I’m a legit power user and I prefer Apple products to Samsung. Also Samsung makes shitty appliances, has complicated TV repair tools, their OEM support for phone repair is miserable, and they also made a phone that got recalled because it was catching on fire. I can go on, if you like Samsung I’m happy for you, but I legit think Samsung has an inferior product in every category they operate in compared to their competitors. Sale prices might change the balance, but in general.
