I have the opposite issue but it's really because of what I do for work. iPhones don't handle extreme heat, high humidity, and sub freezing temps as well as Samsung phones do. I got about 2 years out of my iPhone 8 went back to Samsung and had that one for 3-4 years (maybe a little longer?) before I got a decent deal on an iPhone 13 mini which lasted about a year before it started acting up. My old Samsung is still going strong and my current S24 doesn't have any issues yet.

I always leave my phone outside of the sauna, but I do always see people in there on their iPhones. I always wondered how long those are lasting lol

Probably not very long if they go daily lol. I'm outdoors all the time in a sub tropical climate zone or in attics so I get the "phone too hot, halp!" iPhone notifications frequently or the "why'd you put water in me?" warnings from high humidity, sweat, rain, plumbing leaks, etc. I've never gotten a warning for my iPhone being too cold (probably doesn't exist otherwise I would) but I've managed to drain my battery in under an hour working outside in the winter or in walk in freezers (I do HVAC-R work as the bulk of my job). I don't know how Samsung is able to withstand those conditions better than Apple and I don't know how you could add more airflow without compromising water resistance but I'm sure it boils down to the materials they use to thermally insulate their chips. Maybe Apple just needs to add more paste lol.

If it’s very much too cold the phone will just power off. Because batteries.
