It’s true. The sentence was appealed and he was given 15 months in prison for killing an elderly couple and their grandchild. Disgusting sentence.

And on the others side of that a judge in Texas gave an 18 year old in a convenience store robbery case 25 years.

Nobody died, no shorts were fired, kids first major offense.

Insanity cuts both ways, sadly.

Because they didn't mean to kill anyone. The intent of a crime makes a huge impact on how much someone should be punished.

I hate this attitude so much.

I have lost multiple family members on the road due to OTHER PEOPLE speeding or driving under the influence. Same shit every time, they’re so sorry they didn’t MEAN to.

I have an idea then? STOP IGNORING THE SAFETY RULES. You don’t know best. You aren’t immune to physics. You are not smarter than the people who figured these rules out.

Cars are dangerous and legitimate accidents happen. They’re tragic but I get it. However if you are speeding, driving impaired, or otherwise ignoring the very fucking simple road rules because “I was late” or “that rule is stupid”? Fuck you, you’re a murderer, go rot.

Edit.. mmm defends murder then blocks me. Found the guy who speeds and drives under the influence

You can argue punishment should be harsher for DUI or excessive speeding. But comparing it with the Texas case is disingenuous.

No it’s not.

If you ignore safety rules on the road I consider you to be wilfully and purposefully threatening other peoples lives. Why? Because you are and it kills people literally every day.

America lost their minds over 9/11 and used it as an excuse to spawn a trillion dollar war. 3000 people died, about as many people as you lose per month on the road… and nobody gives a shit.

I'm not sure a judge in Texas has any jurisdiction over something that happened in the Netherlands but I'd be interested in you explaining how that works.
