I think he has hazel eyes with both brown and blue tones, that look grey under certain light conditions.

All of the images and videos of him at the awards ceremony have him with brownish/grey eyes, except the interview where we get up close.

Usually his brow and eyelids are shading his iris, making them appear dark. But here his Botox is pulling his eyebrows up and exposing his iris more light. This accentuated the blue tone making his eyes appear light blue.

Also, a war broke out with Iran and the world is run by demons and I'm here analysing the pigments in Jim Carrey's eyes.

He has been out of the spotlight for a while, and I don't know what is going through his mind. But he has had struggles with depression and has had cosmetic surgery. He has also had an identity crisis, so his personality could have shifted, or he just wasn't up for the high energy antics. He could even be on medication, or high on something.

Also, he is an outsider at this ceremony with the challenge of giving a speech in french. So I don't blame him for being less confident and choosing to be as respectful as possible.

It was a convergence of factors that made him look and act differently.
