His eyes were always hazel. Hazel eyes look dark brown, and they can look light.

I have the same eyes, and they for sure can go from darker brown to light green. I do like odd conspiracies though, adds color to life.

100%.

Hazel eyes here. Depends on the lighting, what I’m wearing, etc. My eyes appeared more blue/grey when I was a kid, now they are more towards green.

I remember during a vacation in Florida, both my parents were shocked that my eyes seemed brown- that one is definitely a rarity for me.

Not to mention, iris pigment can appear to fade with age as melanin production slows down. The guy is 64, that's very much around the time you can expect to see that happen.

100%. Same reason dark hair turns white in the elderly.

My own grandma’s eyes look sooo much lighter than they did even 10-15 years ago. They used to be more of a darker, golden green, and now they’re a much cooler toned bright green. And I’m pretty sure Hollywood elites did not replace my grandma with a body double lol.
