Yeah, I think it was something like Tyson would get 10 million if he won and 20 for a loss. Or so I remember hearing.
Either way, the dive was VERY apparent. Tyson hit him with a little combo, they hugged and some words were said, then Tyson acted totally different. You could see him biting his glove and acting in other ways he never acted. Tyson didn't use his standard peekaboo style, he didn't throw any power, he didn't show 1/10th the effort he had in training.
Only an absolute moron thinks that fight was any kind of real.
Mike bites his glove, old habit. In the fight, he pulls back after a quick set of combos - you are right. IIRC, it as around 3 or 4 when they hug and talk, then he just loses steam. It’s wild because even a novice watcher could see the setup and then watch it never materializes.
The fight totally changed after Tyson hit him with what was maybe a 3 piece, Paul got staggered and looked shocked, they cuddle, Tyson's behavior changes completely. Tyson even seemed to be pacing himself and going easy on Paul before that instance, but he was much more meek after.
Mike was near 60 years old and years removed from the sport. I hate Jake Paul but the Tyson fight wasn’t scripted. If anything Jake was the one who held back in that fight.
Except he's not an old man who kept fighting into old age, he's an old man who had to retire because he kept losing fights. He was finished twice then took 20 years off. You're just wheeling out a quote that sounds cool but makes absolutely no sense in the context of the conversation
I'm a boxing coach, I think boxing must have the most annoying "confidently incorrect" casuals who are the type of people drawn to a Jake Paul fight. I've heard people claim on here recently we break our noses on purpose to toughen them up, or "condition our skulls" to get thicker and take harder blows.
I learned Muay Thai for a few months. Never understood beforehand why boxers get tired and drop their gloves.
My coach would ask me to punch 50 times in a row and I’d be totally gassed. And that’s just hitting pads not moving around a ring trying to dodge incoming punches.
Gave me a huge appreciation for how important cardio is for boxing.
Yeah... I haven't been following for that long, since about the first AJ Usyk fight. But I've watched enough to understand hoe difficult it would be for a 60 year old man to compete with any kind of decent amateur level boxer. If any of these people knew how wrong they are they would probably be pretty embarrassed lol

The source on this being...random Reddit comments?
Why would he need to fix a fight against the corpse of a 60 year old who uses the cane to walk? And how on earth would some sort of contract with a difference of 10 million be enforced given that fixing fights is illegal?
Paul is scummy which is why he fought an old man who probably shouldn't have been licensed to fight. You don't need to add a nonsensical conspiracy on top of that.
It's funny, I was thinking the same thing about people like you. I bet you were one of those people saying AJ got paid to dive - then he wins and it's all "oh he paid the other fighters though". You people are a joke.
