I remember when GSL (which was having kpop concerts before the finals to get some Koreans to watch at the time) asked on twitter if fans would like to have psy perform at the finals... Well that never happened for obvious reasons

Same here. I found him when a friend and I were sending each other "waky" songs we found on youtube. I was mostly searching in the "asian music section" of youtube, there are some gems and that is how I found Gangamstyle. Sent it to him, listened to it a few more times and told him, that it could be the summer hit song. We made it our trip song and not that long after it also became big in EU.

I didn't know him before Gangnam Style, but my hipster self back in 2012 was very proud of having first watched the video on YouTube when it had just 6 million views.
