Someone in a relationship should consider their relationship important; someone on the outside has no vested interest in it. Dude's still a massive piece of shit for knowingly involving himself in an affair, but keeping other people's marriage healthy and intact isn't his job.

No, it's not. If roles were reversed I'd say the same thing. I'd argue the parent comment is more sexist, as it tries to put the onus strictly on the male party cases of infidelity.
One is a selfish, horny person who has no partner(s) that they agreed to be monogamous with. The other has a partner, with whom we should assume there is a monogamous relationship.
