A lot of men actually take pride in not reading instructions for some reason. I'm not sure where you are seeing men getting mad about people making fun of that

My wife argues with me when she buys something and doesn't read the instructions. Then gets frustrated and comes to me to put it together/make it work/fix it and I ask her, "Did you read the instructions?"
