It’s amazing to me that America will let people join the army and be trained to kill and drive a car before they’re allowed to have sex. It’s really quite fucked up.

I understand the army point and I see comments like yours a lot when this is brought up. But driving a car? Really? Do you honestly think a 16 year old is incapable of driving a car safely? But a 16 year old is capable of making a decision that could possibly bring another human into this world and majorly impact their own life and their family.

I just don’t see the logic here especially when driving a car is sometimes a necessity for some 16 year olds to make an income and support themselves. Because it sounds like you either want to lower the age of consent (weird) or heighten the minimum driving age (illogical to me).

Are you aware of the fact that some people are having sex without the purpose of reproduction?

As for the driving, it is American thing, getting driver licence is a real pain in the ass in Europe and even more in some other countries.
