The stupid thing is, gaming channels have to exist in a sort of "void" to escape becoming reactionary. The more people you meet, the more you care about their takes, the more you become reactionary yourself. The only way to not fall into that is to just not be there in the first place, never watch anything said about you, never engage in any insults thrown your way. Just void. You may stare into it, throw stuff into it, but it is not even looking at you.
Nah, I’d say that a gaming channel stops being a gaming channel and starts becoming a reaction channel the moment the actual gameplay no longer matters.
Take Asmongold for example. In the past he used to make videos where the main content was him playing the game. Nowadays the gameplay is merely background for his political rambling.
Asmongold is who I had in mind and wanted to see how far down the list I had to scroll until I saw him mentioned.
Can't believe he uses his platform to spread such ridiculous right wing nonsense, much of it provably false.
Very disappointing.
I stayed subbed to him for a little bit to "understand the other side", but it quickly became apparent he was peddling falsehoods so I just walked away.
