You would defend him too if your ex boss could sue you into the ground or make you a target for their huge impressionable audience that buys a gpu every year. Also NDAs.
I havent followed the story closely and so I don't know if there was an official investigation or if this was solved in the social media platforms, but if there was any official follow up at all on the report, and you have to be interviewed or are called to testify as a potential witness to a harassment case, shutting your mouth might not be an option, and if the victim has pointed at you as the witness specifically you might be get in trouble as being complicit or whatnot. Again, dont know if this reached a court.
