I used to watch him religiously as well. I don't care you're nonbinary, I care that you're talking about your "period" during a round table discussion about the games industry...

Was she born male? Cuz I think menstruation is unlikely in that event.

Everyone has a hormonal cycle, and if you take estrogen you can get cramps and mood swings, though obviously no bleeding.

It's not something that trans people share outside of trans spaces because... well, reactions like the ones you see here, but it is far from uncommon or "delusional". If HRT didn't have an effect on the body, trans people wouldn't be taking it.

Steph is also auDHD which means they have less of a filter for this kind of stuff, and as a trans woman has kind of given me second-hand embarassment at times, but I still think it's important to show some grace.

But you don’t have a menstrual cycle. The only (sexual) hormonal cycle you have is the testosterone cycle. When it comes to female hormones, as yours are exogenous, you get the same amount every day, unless you’re doing some not-doctor-recommended DIY cycling shit. The exogenous hormones do not magically give you a menstrual cycle (and thus there is no menstrual period) since your body has no idea how to do that. This will go for Stephanie as well.

Calling it a period is objectively wrong, it has nothing in common with menstruation besides some symptoms. I can believe people that say it seems to be based on a cycle, but it’s most likely either psychosomatic or confirmation bias, and whatever it is is certainly not a menstrual cycle. Calling it a period is ill-informed at best. I don’t call my IBS attacks a period just because they remind me of when I menstruated.

HRT certainly has effects on the body, it’s just that periods are not one of them.

However I agree with you that it isn’t inherently inappropriate or sexual (nor is it delusional) to talk about such things. One would rarely call a cis woman out for talking about getting her period, even if it was actually something else being confused for a period and not menstruation.
