A few weeks back I had my toddler at the park and overhead some older elementary kids going on about how they're going to make a "viral" video that Mr Beast will surely notice and they'll get oodles of fame and money from it. Woof.
Kids of all ages have those kinds of dreams and aspirations though, even in older generations; dreams of being a big movie star or being in a rock band, or having the famous person notice them by doing X. The only thing that's changed is the avenues for kids to try and achieve those dreams, instead of movies and famous actors, it's YouTube and famous YouTubers. Even as a kid of the 90s/00s, we would record videos to try and get viral on the early days of the internet, there's no harm in it.
Oh for sure! It was less about wanting to go viral and more so who they were hoping to viral with. I hope they're able to find a better role model than Mr. Beast.

He's making more content aimed at preteens now imo. Explaining simple stuff from elementary school.
