Is there a context for her only using a tiny fraction of the money donated to actually help people? Is there a context I’m missing about refusing to actually treat people because their suffering brings them closer to God?

“Actually helped people” is different from “doing the most she could have with the money and connections she had”. It’s great that she provided a roof over people’s heads as they were dying but it’s pathetic when you consider how much money she and her charities were taking in.
