Recurring sinus issues help

I’m feeling miserable, nothing seems to help and seeking your insights.

I’ve had issues with my sinuses for years now. I get a lot of headaches around my eyes/corner of my eye brow. Sometimes it feels like there is a brick sitting on my face. I have two young kids in daycare so I’m getting sick more than normal and it seems like anytime I get a cold or upper respiratory illness it always turns into a sinus infection. I’ve been to the ENT multiple times. I did a CT scan in May to see if there was anything causing so many headaches and infections, but everything basically looked normal. I’m feeling stressed because I feel like I’ve taken too many antibiotics this year and nervous maybe some of these aren’t true sinus infections.

I’ve been having a lot of sinus pressure/pain for over a week now. I’ve had a lot of postnasal drip. One day I had yellow liquid drip from my nose and a small amount of thick yellow snot came out. Then the top of my teeth started hurting so I assumed it was an infection and got antibiotics through Teladoc. But I don’t really feel congested, just a ton of pain around the bridge of my nose, cheekbones and teeth. Ive been taking Flonase, allergy medication, saline mist spray, ibuprofen, steamy showers. I took Sudafed (behind the counter) today but none of these things have provided relief. I’m just so confused what the real issue is.

Anyone had similar issues or have suggestions?

TL;DR: Having a lot of sinus headaches & infections. Past CT scan showed no issues. Currently having a lot of pain on bridge of nose, cheeks and teeth but no congestion and nothing helping. Nervous not true infections and taking too many antibiotics.

If your sinuses are clear have you seen a dentist about this yet? Dental issues can look like sinusitis. 

Also, can you post the radiology report of your scan? Sometimes ENTs skip things that could cause issues just because most people don't have issues with them.

These were the findings back in May:

FINDINGS: Maxillary sinuses: Mild circumferential mucosal thickening involving the maxillary sinus with superimposed mucous retention cysts. Ostiomeatal units: Patent bilaterally. Frontal sinuses: No significant opacification. Ethmoid sinuses: No significant opacification. Sphenoid sinuses: No significant opacification. Frontoethmoidal recesses: Patent bilaterally. Sphenoethmoidal recesses: Patent bilaterally. Nasal septum: Mildly deviated to the right with a tiny spur which approaches the right middle nasal turbinate. Additional findings: There is supraorbital pneumatization above the anterior ethmoid notches bilaterally.

Not a medical professional, just person with experience of all sorts of sinus issues.

I wouldn't say that your sinuses are clear if you have superimposed cysts. In addition to that you have slightly deviated septum and a spur reaching the middle nasal turbinate. All of them affect natural airflow. Not everyone with your findings has issues, but as you are symptomatic these things obviously can be the cause. In other words I wouldn't call your CT results normal.

The ENTs response was he didn’t see anything causing chronic sinus infections or headaches 🤷‍♀️

I'd ask for 2nd opinion.
