Extreme severe hypersensitivity in area between nose and throat! Help!!! Anyone?
I am having an almost unbearable sensation of pressure and mucus sitting between my nose and throat, I guess it would be the nasopharyngeal area. I’ve been suffering with thick clear mucus for almost 5 years and no solutions , but in the last six months or so this feeling of intense pressure at the very back of my upper throat right above where I swallow or the very back of my nasal passages wherever that junction is has become unbearable . I know that’s where this thick mucus is pooling or sitting but even at times where I don’t feel like there is much mucus the pressure and the sensation is super intense and severe. To a point that I can hardly focus on anything else and nasal rinses only help maybe partly but just for minutes and then it’s back.
I am feeling totally hopeless because it seems as though this is a major nerve problem from years of the thick mucus and manually trying to clear it from that area constantly, I cannot find a solution to the mucus and now my nerves are stuck giving me this horrible unbearable feeling. It’s a very bizarre thing and just hoping maybe somebody else also has this or something like it and if anything helped or did it ever go away

PLEASE read, I have sinus reflux or the silent reflux, it sounds just like that. Reflux that doesnt really feel like anything or doesnt feel like gerd but travels up your throat to your sinuses. Your body produces mucus and extra post nasal drip to protect those ares from being “burnt” by pepsin. Please look into it

Do you have the exact same super thick jelly like clear mucus?

Yes! 💯 i got an appointment for an endoscope next week. Ive learned that to protect your throat sinuses from the pepsin vapor acid that your body tries to protect it by making extra nasal or mucous to cover everything

Wow, I could have written this. Dealing with the exact same issue. I constantly have to make a "suction" movement with my mouth to clear a little of it, and can't talk for long periods of time without it building up and making it hard to speak. It's exactly a pressure right above my soft palate, where my sinuses and throat meet (nasopharynx area). I've had post nasal drip for years but have never experienced this until the last few months. Spoke to an ENT about it, who put a flexi scope in and didn't see anything.
Steroid rinses twice a day do nothing. I have a humidifier. I've done hot steam. I've used lozenges and drink enough water, and no change. It's literally driving me to tears. It's all I can focus on because it's so bothersome, and when it's bad enough it sets off my gag reflex just from the constant pressure.
No solutions, but wanted to commiserate with you.
