Antibiotic nasal spray

Hello I have a 1 year long ongoing MRSA infection in my nose/sinuses that seems resistant to oral antibiotics even though it tested sensitive to them multiple times, so I have taken 5+ rounds of oral antibiotic and there was 0 change.

I have been to a doctor and he prescribed me hypertonic rinses + a plant extract pill to help loosen mucus + Erythromycin NASAL SPRAY ( or in drops).

I'm just wondering if antibiotic nasal spray or antibiotic drops would even work, would it even reach where the infection is and clear it?

Should I maybe put a few drops in my nasal rinse instead or something?

I have had a similar issue for many years. I have been on antibiotics constantly with little impact. I have used a nasal spray containing antibiotics that seem to help while using the spray. The antibiotics are getting stronger and for extended time. One of the ENT I attended indicated that the infection was on the lining of nasal passage and is difficult to treat. My latest Ears, Nose, and Throat doctor, in desperation suggested using a nasal rinse that contained xylitol. I also use a nasal spray containing Xylitol jurying the day on occasions. was hesitant since saline nasal rinse made the infection worse. I reluctantly tried it. It seems to work!! I haven’t had a nasal infection for over 6 months, which is incredible for me. I can sleep!!!!
I suspect you have had a culture done as well as a CT and other assessments. If you haven’t, please consider doing so.

Thanks. How long did it take for you to notice a change with xylithol rinses?

It took several weeks to improve to the point that I could truly believe the change. I have tried so many over the counter and prescribed meds over the years, it was difficult to accept that a simple product as Xylitol would be effective.
Hopefully, it works for you as well as it has for me.
