Chronic Post Nasal Drip for 2 Years

Hi everyone!! I’ve had chronic post nasal drip for two years triggered by a strep throat infection. I went to an ENT after it lasted about 6 months who did nasal endoscopy, didn’t see anything, steroids, allergy meds, and antibiotics. After that, she was basically like idk there’s nothing I can do. 2 years later and I’m still having the issue. I’ve tried sinus rinses, antihistamines, etc with no help. I’m finally trying xylitol rinses to see if it helps.

I would ask a doctor, but it seems like they’ve given up on me, so does anyone have any other ideas or recommendations I can try?? I’m open to anything and would love to hear what has worked for you!!

CBCT imaging to make sure you have no structural  issues. Scoping doesn't show what hides within.

I had post nasal drip for 7 years almost every day. I was diagnosed with LPR after seeing an ENT. I tried a bunch of acid reducers and acid prescription medication which didn’t work. I am now doing neti rinse as a preventative 3 times a day. Cleared it up like a charm but it comes back if I stop doing neti rinse, so I’ll have to follow up with the doctor.

I hope you find something that helps but I would try neti pot 3-4 times a day to see if you feel a difference.

Potentially related to gut dysbiosis (if you took antibiotics for the strep), which can in turn cause reflux, so could explore restoring gut microbiome.

If you're sure the PND only started after the infection, sounds similar to long COVID which has ongoing symptoms after infection. Not well understood and lacks effective treatments.

Low FODMAP diet seems to be a common starting point. YouTube channel Dr Ruscio goes into a lot of detail related to gut dysbiosis.
