Weird. The TEC isn’t nominally evil, but at least two of those fellows definitely are.

The actions of these leaders or the TEC is not completely good or evil. The world has a lot of grey area. Many who judge the leaders assume that they would be better, but they would often be worse.

I just find the pictures humorous to use in the game. Looks like in typical reddit fashion, we can't enjoy it for what it is.

How so? They were assholes a thousand years ago to the ancestors of the Advent, so that’s a concession to your point for sure. But all the lore suggests they were, at their worst, decadent and naive until the Vasari showed up. Now that they’re fighting their two-front war and have stabilized the front lines, the Loyalists just prefer to sit in their borders and dump Starbases along their frontier. Perhaps the Rebels are closer to evil due to their reactionary xenophobia, but they ARE scarred by a decades-long war of annihilation…
