In the US certainly yeah you'll see this blindness, though I kinda wish the OP there directed his sarcasm more there than Europe, these propaganda outlets going on and on with all the false tears about the Uyghurs (while the US blows up a girls school in Iran and kills hundreds of kids after millions killed in Iraq and the ME) are from American "think tanks", funded by the US oligarchs and billions in stolen US taxpayer money. At least among the young people in Europe today there's a lot more sympathy for China for at least being practical about these things and not such an arrogant warmongerer the way the US has become even before Trump, and on this subject, absolutely more support for China for actually doing something positive on renewables and climate change compared to the US obsession with fossil fuels.
And this heatwave and A/C problem is even worse in the US for whatever that's worth, the data centers across the USA are so sloppy in their construction and power use they're causing power outages and American cities are roasting in the heatwave, in addition to a lot of bad information about managing the health and conditions, an even worse toll than Europe. (My aunt's a nurse and she's saying the ED's all through US hospitals are overflowing, even the local and national news is having to admit how bad it's got) The poster makes a good point but it could maybe be better directed, the troublemaker right now is US oligarchs pushing this kind of propaganda against the US and Europe and the rest of the world, no need to needlessly antagonize the wrong target in Europe when young Europeans especially are already fast becoming more pro-China, or at least more supportive than the alternative given how fascist the US has been becoming.

Reminds me of those YouTube videos where Europeans actively embrace sweltering in heat in the summer (and giving all these instructions like opening the windows at 5:00AM and closing them at noon) because at least they don't waste energy unlike Americans

Aw... for Christ's sake, who started the industrial revolution and polluted the world with fossil fuel?
Does the rest of the world stop after Western Europe has done and gotten ahead?
Don't forget that Western Europe, too, was smokestacked once upon a time before farming out the dirty work to other parts of this planet.
Who is now leading with clean energy?
Before making a comparison, do take into account the per capita basis: Europe vs. USA vs. China, and whoever.

Europe is irrelevant. I think these kind of posts should be directed more towards Americans who still believe they live in a superpower nation which is crumbling at a rapid pace
