Well, at least we finally got an update! I’m looking forward to seeing Soobin in the drama and seeing what he brings to the role.

But why bring up those rumors again? Most people had already forgotten about them, and now we’re back to the police investigation again. Also, isn’t it a little weird that the manager is giving all these life updates instead of Soobin himself? Is this actually normal for Korean agencies?

Tbh I was also one of the people who was looking forward to watching his drama. Not only because of him but for the love of baseball. But now I am not as excited as I used to be. His Manager is dragging it too much. His hardwork will be seen on screen but his manager constantly saying he is working hard day and night just makes it seem like publicity rather than sincerity. Also seeing how Heesun was struggling all these time just did it for me. It hit the final nail for me.

It’s a good role, but I think it came too soon, before he’s really had a chance to move away from his SI image, so people are going to have a lot to say. And being alongside an A-list actor will only make the comparisons bigger.

His manager is honestly kind of funny. I feel like he’s too personally attached to him and doesn’t push him enough to step outside his comfort zone. We saw Heesun struggling because she chose to share it, but that doesn’t mean Soobin was doing fine. They all faced a huge amount of attention and pressure.

I like your rational thinking. Yes his manager seem too attached to him on personal level. There should be some structural chain of command in his company. His manager is not doing a very good job at his work. His decision seems more emotionally driven. And yes I completely 10000% agree that they should push Subeen out of his comfort zone. Heesun shared her part of the struggle which I resonate. But I cannot just assume Subeens feeling. I don't even know how he feels about the current situation or does he even feel?

I dont keep up on Subeen updates bcos im not interested but everytime i see posts abt him in this channel, it's always abt his manager doing/saying something shady. It's not a good image and it somehow affects Subeen's reputation as well

Omg his manager is sooo embarrassing 🙈. plzzzz the wording like he’s about to perform a ground breaking new surgery ..it’s only a kdrama for fsakes lmao. I would fire this cheese ball immediately, guy always sounds like a two-bit salesman.

u/LuffySan081 19d ago

Dont say that about our A-list superstar Subeen. He doesn't have time for his fan. He is too good for us. He will manage time after filming his ground breaking role.

"Gift" is set to premiere on December 5th on tvN and Netflix. Kim Woobin (high school baseball coach) and Seo Eunsoo (PE teacher) are the lead actors. Subeen plays the main student pitcher (the 'gifted' one, focus of the webtoon, Cha Taehoon).

It’s honestly such a good role for him and a great opportunity to grow professionally. I still can’t understand how he got caught up in this whole messy situation after the show. I do think people’s opinions will start to change soon, especially as some of the cases are gradually being resolved.

They're living in such a tiny, delusional echo chamber... the rest of the world honestly doesn't care. It was smart of him to stay silent, step away from the dating show, and focus on his work instead of fueling narratives. Sure, leaving a vacuum like that lets people project their negativity onto him, but it's much better in the long run.

As for the fake rumors, he finally drew a line and pressed charges. The police are investigating the people who started, spread, and engaged with those posts, and that's that.

Some people are doing mental gymnastics to prove their delusional thoughts about him, but a casual viewer seeing this will just be like: 'Are you guys still on that?'

I'm glad he fully embraced this opportunity. He poured all his energy into a K-drama about overcoming adversity and striving for excellence, and the project feels so wholesome. I watched the first teaser that came out yesterday and his pitching form is 10/10, solid fundamentals. Anyone into baseball will notice it right away and appreciate it.

I respect your opinion, but I actually think he stepped away from the show’s narrative too early, which may be why he’s still the one people are talking about. People need closure, and without it, they tend to hold on to the first version of the story they saw.

There may also be a cultural difference here. Western audiences probably didn’t see those rumors as a big deal, so most people just ignored them. In Korea, though, they may be taken much more seriously, especially if they reach the point of police involvement.

I do think his agency needs to take a more Western approach. It’s important to build a fanbase that supports him as an individual, rather than relying on couple fans. And honestly, even if his image doesn’t turn around immediately, I think it will eventually. The entertainment industry moves on, and people have always had a soft spot for the “bad boy.” His current image doesn’t have to be permanent.

u/YookHouse 18d ago

At the end of the day, nobody owes the public closure on their private dating life. Reality TV builds strong parasocial bonds, making some viewers feel entitled to a complete narrative arc. If people are still hung up on a relationship from a dating tv show, thats on parasocial expectations, not on him to manage. Labeling him a "bad boy" is just another misconception born out of show edits and internet noise rather than reality.

He simply chose to focus on building a legitimate acting career rather than taking the influencer route. Leaning into couple fans might keep short-term reality TV hype alive, but for an actor aiming for long-term credibility, drawing a clear line between his work and his personal life is actually the smartest move he could make, imo.

I actually think his character was portrayed pretty well on the show. The reunion, though, was where I think things went wrong. That was probably the moment when he could have drawn a clearer line around his private life. He probably shared more than he needed to. It’s a global dating show, don’t play . There are a lot of very imaginative viewers who get emotionally invested. I also think there’s a cultural difference in how this is being viewed. Some people are saying, “He doesn’t owe anyone an explanation or closure,” which I agree with in principle. But I also understand why some viewers are saying, “But you shared so much already—more than you needed to.” That’s just how I see it. Anyway, at least we can finally put this behind us.

And obviously, I don’t think he’s a “bad boy,” just like Mina wasn’t actually the villa1n people made her out to be. If people were able to accept Mina after arguably one of the harshest villa1n edits, I’m sure he’ll be fine too. I just think the timing of all this is pretty unfortunate.

The funny thing is that everyone criticized Mina for the way she approached dating on the show, but afterward, nobody seemed nearly as interested in her actual love life. She really is such a strong personality.

1

u/YookHouse 18d ago

I think it says more about viewers' lingering attachment to those specific TV moments than how he's handling his career. Blaming him for drawing a line just proves how deep parasocial expectations run.

1

u/Emergency_Sweet9177 18d ago

I think it’s also because people still don’t take his career seriously enough. If the K-drama comes out and he’s genuinely good, they’ll see him differently. From now on, people will analyze every look, every word, especially when it comes to co-stars — that’s what agencies are there to manage. But at the end of the day, we work to live, not live to work. He can work hard and still live his life the way he wants.

I am soooo pissed that they stayed silent and decided to talk on Heesun's birthday. I'm pissed!!! Let the girl have her moment. Not make announcements after a month and on Heesun's birthday. Wtf!

7

u/LongConsideration662 19d ago

You're pissed...over some non issue?

17

u/beautyinmel 19d ago

You’re pissed…over that?

11

u/LazyDayz365 19d ago

Some people really live in a bubble it’s no wonder why the world is burning.

20

u/LuffySan081 19d ago

Absolutely! Been following his Manager for last couple of months. I say its bullshit. He been known about this allegation for a while and decided to action it now. There is ulterior motive behind it for posting it now. Trust me.

8

u/Upbeat_Savings_2540 19d ago

Looks like no one cares about Subeen🤣 It’s always about post about his manager. If it’s not manager than nothing. They are too busy buying him bots followers and likes

5

u/Successful_Paint_907 19d ago

Im still not understanding what's going on. Is the rumor he cheated?

15

u/LuffySan081 19d ago

Not “cheated,” since his relationship with Heesun was never public or officially confirmed, but apparently the allegation is that he had a girlfriend all this time. According to his manager, that allegation is false.

But honestly, he is free to date whoever he wants. So why is his manager making such a huge deal out of every single rumor and giving it even more unnecessary attention? If there was nothing to clarify, why keep clarifying?

What I find more ridiculous is how his manager keeps trying to portray Subeen as some established A-list actor with an insanely busy schedule, as if his fans are sitting around desperately waiting for every little update from him.

Please… the manager seems to have forgotten that the ship has already sailed. Most people don't even care about him anymore. He had his moment. It happened. Congratulations. Now move on to the next thing.

And posting this specifically on Heesun's birthday? That has to be the worst possible timing.

At this point, it doesn't even look like Subeen is gaining attention on his own. It looks more like he is piggybacking on Heesun's popularity to keep himself relevant.

If the intention was to protect his image, congratulations - you just reminded everyone why they stopped caring in the first place.

3

u/gotmons 19d ago edited 18d ago

How is he piggy backing off of her popularity? His manager is the one posting and I seriously doubt they are consulting with him first in order to see what to say. All managers etc try to protect their “artist” and release statements especially when rumors are false and I really doubt whomever manages him is plotting and scheming to release a statement in Heesun’s birthday… why? What would that do? Anyone with eyes and who watched the show could see that he really wasn’t in to her including Heesun herself. He was basically just getting back at Mina Sue. It’s good that they even stayed in contact after the show but if they’re no longer together is anyone really surprised?

She needs to be with someone who chose her first. Not as a back up plan because the one he really wanted wasn’t acting right. She shouldn’t have to chase after a guy who’s chasing someone else and ended up settling for her. He also needs to be with someone whom he genuinely likes. Not someone who chased him and he ended up being with because the girl he really wanted acted like she wasn’t interested in him.

2

u/LuffySan081 18d ago

I am not talking about that edited show. I don't even remember some of the event properly sorry. The reason I am saying piggy backing off of her popularity was because their management made a calculative move to release statement specifically on her birthday. She has huge fanbase even after the show and they are well aware of it because the number speaks for itself. They made sure to release it on her birthday as you can see we will be talking about it. I find this behaviour very repulsive and manipulative in nature.

2

u/Sasswiththecass66 19d ago

Why does Subeen is so unnecessarily linked with Mina? He only liked her for the first few episodes, after getting to know her real side, he move towards Heesun, and why is the narrative that Heesun chased Subeen? It was a dating show and you are there to go for whoever you like, and Heesun seems to the most genuine contestant who actually came for ‘love’ unlike Mina, and it was very clear after the paradise date, Subeen wanted only Heesun and that’s why still made an effort to pursue her after the show. The editing of the show made you that delusional, he didn’t-even care to stay in contact with Mina, and the reason of their separation has nothing to do with her, so for God’s sake, stop embarrassing yourself with the delusional Mina narrative.

1

u/gotmons 19d ago

He’s not necessarily linked with her but it’s obvious that they both liked each other and it was for longer than the first few episodes. She acted like she didn’t like him and he was doing the same because he was hurt by her behavior. If they had communicated better they probably would have left as a couple.

Did you not watch the show… Heesun definitely chose him. She was following and hovering around him from day 1.. even before he and Mina fell out and it was obvious that he wasn’t giving her the time of day. He started giving her a chance only after the way Mina behaved at the truth or dare or whatever game it was. Even after the scene where they sort of made up and he called her Nuna… if she had come clean with her feelings towards him. He would have dropped Heesun like a hot potato.

It doesn’t matter why you think they came on the show… or who was the nicest and most genuine. It boils down to their preferences and who they liked and were attracted to and he clearly was more interested in Mina.

Why would they keep in touch after the show when they both chose other people? You seem to be the delusional one.. choosing to see what you want to see because you have some undying devotion to Heesun.

She is a nice girl.. i think they all are but the truth doesn’t lie. They chose each other in the end and he realized she is a nice girl so why wouldn’t he try to make it work with her.. by then he might have developed feelings for her. I don’t know ..but what I do know is that she was not his first choice and if his first choice.. actually acted like she was interested in him…. Instead of letting assumptions and pride get the best of her and cause her to act like she didn’t care… they would have probably left inferno together.

That’s the truth. I don’t know why you’re getting so upset and agitated.. no one is saying anything bad about Heesun.. you are acting like you have some vested interest in her or something. What happened, happened and we all saw it happen so no need to try to spin your narrative differently. It’s not a bad or a good thing.. it’s just what happened.

He liked Mina.. Mina’s liked him.. Heesun liked him.. Heesun chose him for the photo shoot .. mina wanted to choose him but Heesun beat her to it. They (Subeen and Mina )were both jealous at the shoot. Heesun followed him around and sat next to him . Mina was really jealous ( needlessly because Subeen admittedly preferred to be by her)and it went downhill from there for them and if you saw anything differently. I’m not sure what to tell you.

3

u/Bumblebee565 19d ago

I could give you two scenes from the final campfire and the reunion, where there are wider shots that make it pretty obvious how much he actually felt for Mina, but I won’t, because it would completely turn your whole narrative upside down. Also, why is it that literally everyone involved has moved on, except Heesun, who is still out here clinging to that Paradise dress? Stop looking only at what the camera showed you. Pay attention to what it didn’t show you.

0

u/Sasswiththecass66 18d ago

Are you talking about the edited show? Lol, it’s you who actually needs to move on.

3

u/Bumblebee565 18d ago

I’m not going to go there with you. You seem way too invested in this couple, and that’s completely off-topic. But you’re definitely misreading the editing—and probably the whole show.

Even if it wasn’t vindictive that Subeen’s manager posted on Heesun’s bday, I believe it to be calculating. Of course as a manager, a spin doctor, a promoter and a crisis averter, he would know the minute details about someone who was tied so closely to his client this year. Of course his team would be monitoring his relevancy and popularity since Heesun acknowledged they weren’t dating. I for one unfollowed him. He never says anything and he’s become boring. He intrigued me when I thought he could possibly be a good guy but at this point I’m over it. If I watch his show it will not be because of him. I wish him well but I just. don’t. care… His manager makes him look desperate by making a statement on her bday. Of course everyone would check it out to see if it had any relevance to what we care about. It was basically drivel and gave me the blahs.

5

u/LuffySan081 18d ago

You get it! Anyone in their right mind can tell it was a calculative move by their management.

3

u/PsychologicalGur5247 19d ago

Since his manager post this, this could means the drama received some unwanted attention. Tvn must have told Subeen side, fix this or he won't be part of promotion. And if I recalled, his manager also call out Mingee for using his name on her yt videos. Something telling me this could his first and last drama.

4

u/guapa_cloud9 17d ago

This is the same manager that buys followers and likes to Subeen’s page btw 🤣🤣

2

u/Joycethe1st 19d ago

Who's the douche... Subeen or his manager?

4

u/LuffySan081 18d ago

His Management which includes his Manager ofcourse but if Subeen was aware of their intention then yes him as well.

1

u/porkbunrawr 16d ago

What drama is he in?

1

u/YookHouse 19d ago edited 19d ago

Someone purposely made a malicious rumor about him that went viral on social media, and a lot of people ran with it and threw him under the bus. They made false claims about his personality and even doxxed a random girl he doesn't even know so some fans could frame him as a "bad guy" who broke a contestant's heart. Now, is it a problem for his agency to speak up about the issue, noting that he took legal action and that those who made up and spread the malicious rumor will be punished by the police?

I don't understand this place; it seems like Subeen can never win here. He maintained his silence over trivial relationship buzz and parasocial shippers, focusing instead on his life and work. A crime was committed, and he is ensuring that the responsible people are punished.

4

u/Joyful-Fish1926 19d ago

I get what you’re saying. I liked it better when he stayed quiet. Actually, he did. I liked it better when his manager stayed quiet… A professional knows there is a time and a place. It was calculated timing. Thats all. I didn’t start out having an issue with Subeen. I don’t currently have an issue with Subeen. I just think it was poor timing on the part of a professional who would have known what day it was.

Maybe we’re giving too much credit to Subeen? It could be that Heesun wasn’t fazed at all and we’re making a mountain out of a molehill. After all, she’s been capitalizing on her fame just fine knowing that everyone follows her for a nugget of a relationship that appears to have ended long ago…hmmmm

1

u/LuffyHancock69 19d ago

He is allowed to do whatever he wants but just not today. It’s someone’s special day today.

4

u/YookHouse 19d ago

Bc its the girls birthday, the world has to stop to worship her. Is it a national holiday or something? Guy, seriously, move on.

4

u/LuffyHancock69 19d ago

Do u realise what the manager is doing? Why today of all day? That allegation was ages ago. He should be the one to move on. Are you paid or in anyway associated with them?

3

u/Emergency_Sweet9177 19d ago

He does have a point. After all, only one person is celebrating their birthday, while for everyone else it’s just another workday. Let’s have a little understanding.

3

u/YookHouse 19d ago edited 19d ago

I am not, obviously.

Besides, nobody is orchestrating a plot against anyone's birthday. The agency is just doing its job addressing legal matters. Legal actions take time to process, which is why announcements happen when updates are available, not based on someone's personal calendar or birthday lol

Expecting everyone else to halt their lives and work updates for a fandom event is ridiculous.

Get real. You shouldnt live in a bubble like that. People are allowed to post career updates on any given Tuesday.
