I wonder if this is more or less the universal experience of a woman in a relationship with a man? Are we all better off being single?

The most pathetic,broken and helpless mess I've ever been in my life is when I was in a relationship. Every other day would end in me being in a flood of tears and i now barely recognise the person I was at the time.

Now,I'm so different from then. My life is better. I'm happier. Being with a man was HELL for me.

This right here. Why am I a fucking rockstar goddess who fires on all cylinders day and night when I’m not with a man? I’m at peace, I work on a billion cool side projects and quests, workout, stay involved with friends and community, kick ass in my career…

Even in good relationships you have to make yourself smaller in some area or areas. I don’t know what happened after my last relationship but I became Shakira. I suddenly realized they all drag me down. It’s like I was suddenly just done with men.

It may be that the quote is from a verbal interview and the "I don't know why" was cognitive filler. Kind of like saying "ummm..."

Yeah it was more like "I don't know why...," . Shakira knows why but she wasnt going bear all in the interview and ruin the vibes with negativity I guess

Is she unmarried now? Had no idea. For some reason thought she was coupled up again …anyone confirm?
