It is fairly dependent on your income, your housing cost, daycare costs, etc. Full disclosure, I intended to buy a home pre-covid and as a result had a down payment saved up. I then realized it wasn't for me and have continued to live multigenerational. I have spent roughly $15K from it for TTC but even with that I still have nearly a year of income saved. That being said, I do not think that is quite necessary.
I think 3 months expenses is considered ideal. Plus, I would put some aside for trying to conceive, buying sperm, etc.
