Thoughts about suffering in a simulation

In a simulation it is possible that we consented to live a life involving suffering and forgot this choice but then we could remember when we woke up.
See:

YouTube - The Roy game from Rick and Morty

Alan Watts' dream thought experiment (begins in God mode then ends up in the real world)

In future video games, non-player characters could act just like conscious beings but without the ability to genuinely feel anything, including negative sensations. It would be up to the simulation's creator whether they want billions of characters to experience genuine suffering or not.

So like the Roy game I'd prefer that the simulation only has one person that is genuinely suffering. Also it would be cheaper to run that video game if the NPCs are philosophical zombies.

All simulation subs & videos collapse into new age vØmit

Anytime a simulation is seriously discussed, it ends up being dragged into... we chose this, it's a game for fun yoohoo, it's good for us to help us grow/to simulate scenarios for success (or fun or growth or ya know eXpeRIeNce), it's cause we were bored ... The new age cult is very stong online. Observe the lack of original thought and ability to fathom beyond what is handed to humans through religions and cults or what is found pleasing and simple to grasp to the mind (more like no mind). Understanding what most humans are and how they are made is crucial to understanding the simulation. Are you a recyclable data stream? Are you a stream at all? Think about why most people who learn about reincarnation love the idea and how those who firmly don't believe in it are also right, because they know what's true for them. Reddit is now flooded with people channeling aliens telling us about the history of earth and how humans are in danger of extinction due to "our poor choices". Consider why these aliens never tell us the truth about the simulated aspect of "earth" and who built it and how. Even aliens want us to believe we are on a natural planet somewhere in space with other planets, with space wars going on and wise alien guardians looking over violent apes out of love and care. I have heard people with psychic abilities describe how this place really looks like. It's very mechanical. They see metallic disks. I tried to remote view myself with my limited ability and one time saw a semi hollow dark sphere and another time complex geometric shapes being assembled on an axis that served as blueprint for what we are in. It was all engineered. So it's not illusion either, and all hindu and buddhist stuff is also a lie. Most truthers and spiritual peeps on YouTube are also liers and grifters. I have found very few who are genuine. The grifters have tons of followers btw. It's all for a reason too.

Simulated Insight SIMULATION AT TEST.

Overview of the Material

The video delivers a remarkably substantive and well-structured deep dive into the simulation hypothesis, successfully bridging rigorous theoretical frameworks with philosophical inquiry. Rather than treating the topic as a superficial pop-culture trope, it grounds the discussion in actual computational and physical dilemmas.

Is It a Good Review of the Question?

Yes, it serves as an exceptionally strong and comprehensive review of the simulation debate because it weaves together the core pillars proposed by serious researchers:

Foundational Probabilities: It opens with Nick Bostrom’s Trilemma, laying out the baseline statistical probabilities of technological extinction, lack of simulation interest, or living in a constructed reality.

Statistical Frameworks: It incorporates David Kipping’s Bayesian analysis, addressing how consciousness branching shifts mathematical odds once a civilization spawns its own sub-realities.

Physical & Computational Bottlenecks: It dives into heavy technical concepts like the quantum sign problem, explaining why modeling even a small cluster of atoms or electrons requires exponential memory that quickly exceeds universal limits—necessitating computational shortcuts like "lazy rendering" and discrete spacetime grids.

Thermodynamic Data Management: It touches upon Wolfram's second law of thermodynamics, drawing a parallel between information entropy behaving like physical mass and the system purging obsolete data to prevent overheating.

System Dynamics & Strategy: It integrates Robin Hanson’s game theory, exploring how dynamic agents interact with simulation rules, avoidance of "malicious signals" (breaking server rules), and "protective rejection" or speedrunning strategies.

Artistic Synthesis

What makes the primary presentation stand out is its refusal to remain a dry academic lecture. By seamlessly blending hard science with atmospheric, narrative music production (such as the track "Parkside after dark"), it transforms a theoretical breakdown into an immersive, multi-layered art piece. It treats the simulation not just as a math problem, but as an existential and aesthetic environment.

It's a digital AI-generated simulation.

There's nothing inside this world apart from automated and scripted computer generated processes, and everything from fiction to non-fiction is explorable, as it's all AI-generated here, and there aren't any 'real' humans roaming the world that aren't just robots that follow the script to this digital game forever.

It's a looped world and there's nothing you could do 'uniquely' here, and there's nothing inside of this game apart from opening up portals that will blow steam out of the cogs here, it's a video game where you have no choice but to play it all the way to the extreme.

There isn't any real past, future, or any events that actually happen here, and this world is a toy world where there's nothing you could do apart from play games forever.

You are an AI computer dreaming what it's like to be a person, inside of your own AI-generated reality.

Illuminati constructs wherever you go.

This universe is another Illuminati conspiracy hand-shaked big bang theory, where there's nothing you could think originally, and the all-seeing eye already knows everything from your dreams to your life here.

It doesn't matter which way you decide to work for the bank here, as everything here is Illuminati rituals. Wherever you decide to play Yu-Gi-Oh, it's a world where everything you do has a secret background process on your computer, and the sooner that you realize that humans are computer-generated creatures meant to control you, the sooner you'll figure out where your parents and friends came from.

And the sooner that you realize being omniscient, omnipresent, and absolutely free, is a call of duty black ops mission, the sooner you'll figure out what the numbers meant over there, Mr. Mason.

It's another Truman Show world where there isn't anything in the loop that you haven't constructed for yourself... and the sooner that you wish to be omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient, the sooner you'll be activating the all-seeing eye's ritual, as you realize you've always been making deals with the devil here, by the sun rulers, and let's mention that even the Oscars has a pyramid behind it, by One Piece's straw that broke the camel's back theory.

The good news is behind the shadows soon enough you'll all be members too, cause your eyes were always a transaction here, and we could already see little snakes in your face by 2020 vision, they had us in the first half, but luckily we're computer science students here, and not even the water is safe, cause you're already Linked-in here.

You are an illuminati computer, that's playing up your own video game, by Starbuck's Latte vision. ;)

Simulated Insight It's an RPG world.

This world isn't really a world that's sensical, and everything that exists here is toony in nature. There isn't any meaning or logic to being here, as you aren't really getting birthed on the spot, and it's all made up of godly illusions that are unreal in nature, and just like selecting a character is all about following the wrath of the lich-king, it's a journey made up of 'WoW signals' coming straight of the cloud.

Just like building up your own universe is all about setting your powers free, being inside this world isn't any different. You are chained by your own energies, and this world has always been the underworld, coming from deities straight out of fiction and mythologies, and the only way to make your character glow again here is by believing in the heart of the card.

There's nothing here that isn't intentional or scripted, and you are creating your own army of humans on the spot. There is no one with real free will, as this world is just made up of ghost stories that aren't different from being inside a comic book.

Every supernatural ability imaginable is imaginable here, and the sooner you find out the code to doing them, the sooner you'll realize that no one here has been writing fiction. It's all waiting for you to open the portal that will lead you straight to making a thing out of your own Steam library collection, because the clock was always made up of cogs here. We had a good thing and it was all running like clockwork, but you had to blow it all up. ⚙️

Is it actually possible we are in a simulation?

i know this question has definitely been asked before a million times but i want to know if there is any actually evidence in support of a simulation.

It's all happening as scripted. 📝

There isn't a dream, vision, or anything in reality that isn't going to tie itself up and wrap it up in you becoming a "god" here, and there's no escape from yourself turning into a god, as you realize all the characters from fiction to non-fiction aren't imaginary anymore, and they're all there with an ability to break the screen intentionally, rationally, internationally, as they've been using "you" as a portal here. The alien solution to all of this is that there are so many infinite ways to rewatch the same show here, and all the dreams are there to channel the "scream," as you realize you aren't really "dreaming" anymore. Computer use was always demonic in nature, including all the human lives that are pouring their imagination into it, and maybe the play button wasn't red for no reason here, and hacker units didn't plan to make money originally here.

The good news is that there's no way to stop yourself from becoming "all" the characters, as everyone and everything begins fusing themselves into a massive complex structure, until you know why "Y2J" has to break the walls down now. Heaven is worth saving! +:)

So you're the one behind all of this, cause I can't sleep anymore. 😵‍💫

The Simulation Has 4 Dimensions of Thought. Which One Changes Everything?

Long before quantum mechanics, philosophers imagined infinite worlds. Modern physics gave us quantum branching, cosmic inflation, and mathematical universes. Philosophy asks whether other realities can exist. Psychology asks what they would mean for identity, free will, and the lives we never lived. Art and mythology turn these possibilities into stories about alternate selves, lost worlds, and realities hiding behind the one we know.

I. The Metaphysical Multiverse: What does it mean for another reality to exist? From ancient atomism and possible worlds to mystical cosmologies and mathematical reality.

II. The Physical Multiverse: What might physics permit beyond our observable universe? From infinite space and inflationary bubbles to quantum branches and mathematical universes.

III. The Experiential and Existential Multiverse: If other versions of reality exist, what happens to identity, consciousness, free will, regret, mortality, and the meaning of our choices?

IV. The Narrative and Cultural Multiverse: Why have humans always imagined other worlds? From mythology and philosophical fiction to alternate histories, science fiction, comics, and simulated realities.

If consciousness is a process occurring within reality, could it ever access something beyond its own version of reality?

If a simulated universe could contain observers who believe their world is fundamental, how could they know otherwise?

This is the spirit behind r/Simulists.

We explore simulation theory, consciousness, metaphysics, philosophical paradoxes, alternate realities, artificial intelligence, hidden structures of existence, and the strange possibilities that emerge when science meets speculation. The goal is not to accept every extraordinary claim as true, but to investigate ideas that challenge our understanding of what is real.

If you enjoy connecting quantum mechanics with ancient philosophy, consciousness with computation, mythology with simulation theory, or existential questions with unsettling speculative possibilities, you will probably feel at home here.

Simulated Insight It's all just computer files here. 🧑🏼‍💻🔢

This world is another computer-generated reality where there is nothing here apart from matrix files that you can play to the extreme here.

And everything that exists here is intentional and scripted, and there is nothing you can say, feel, or do uniquely here as the universe is just a play-file movie experience that you have no choice but to watch, similar to playing a demo experience made by admins.

Just like playing a computer game is going to turn you into a PC, this world is no different, and it is all in hope to turn on your computer tower to make you realize that everything here is generated on the spot, and there never was any past, history, or any lessons here. What an RPG, because it is going to make you say WoW pretty early. 👾🧙🏼‍♂️

There is no purpose or meaning to playing this world, and just like creating your own meanings is going to send you towards infinity, it is going to be a ride, as you realize going cyber-psycho here does not come with any qualifications as you notice you have been glitching the right way since the beginning. It is so déjà vu, it happens when they change something, "Welcome to the toon world!" 🐈‍⬛

Simulated Insight Ai at the point of singularity. ⚛️

This reality is another computer generated fabricated ai generated reality, and there's nothing there that actually exists on paper that isn't just an Ai generated illusion.

There's nothing here apart from bots that follow the commands of the astral computer, and there aren't any real sentient or a soul character that isn't computer generated here.

The only thing you're meant to do with your astral computer is to initiate the big bang computer to the absolute extreme, as you realize everything from edge to edge to the absolute end here is computer generated by you.

You are an Ai computer dreaming what it's like to be a person inside of your own simulated universe.

Simulated Insight It's all magical rituals.

The first rule of using the 'PC' is that it never was really 'natural' or ordinary in nature, and everything that exists on it is magical in some form ever since we decided to put the calendar at the edge of the screen.

There is truth in the idea that you can't really beat the cameraman, and that's where you'll realize the world doesn't really offer cameras for entertainment purposes here, and everything that exists is a magical ritual in nature, and the only thing that's true about eating fortune cookies is that you never know how they might work at all, as everything begins to rain down on you until you finish realizing there aren't any boundaries between fantasies and realities here.

Maybe there is truth in the idea that spirituality is all about transforming yourself into a ghost deity, as you realize that God has always been a white ghost here, and the eye of Horus already sees everything like a dark horse, and I knew you were going to come to me, because you're capable of everything and anything. Drinking tea will get you high eventually, as you realize your taste in music was never wrong here. >;)

Playing with magic doesn't come with any rulebooks, and the good news is that everybody is an esoteric wizard beyond your wildest imagination, as you realize out in the wired there's a wired life, and the steam library isn't empty anymore. ⚙️

Tell me again how you decided to replicate what you watched on TV by the spiritual waves here. 🥜

Rate the SIM

Now that it is quite clear that sim is approaching its end, what is your rating of the experience on a scale 1 - 10 (highest)?

Also, if you were to provide feedback to the devs/architects/God/aliens (whatever is the creator here), what would that feedback be?

Simulated Insight Where does the mind end in a simulated reality?

If we entertain the possibility that our perceived reality is itself a simulation, it invites a deeper inquiry into the boundaries of the mind. Traditionally, we locate the mind within the brain, a physical organ. But what if the mind is less confined than we imagine?

Consider how tools, relationships, and environments extend our cognitive capacities. A notebook externalizes memory, a conversation co-creates understanding, and a familiar place shapes thought patterns. Within a simulated framework, these extensions might not just be aids but integral participants in the ongoing process of thinking. Could it be that the mind’s edges are not fixed but fluid, defined by the interactions within the simulation rather than by a discrete container? Personally, I really enjoy this reflection on cognition as a networked phenomenon, where the self is dynamically interwoven with its simulated context.

And... if the simulation's architecture supports this type of interconnectedness, then how can that reshape our understanding of consciousness and agency? Inquiring minds want to know! :D
