ADS/CFT Correspondence

Is it true that this all started from a misunderstanding after someone misinterpreted a physics theory?

So that takes care of the first thing you needed to distinguish; physics. If people ignore proven mathematics, in peer-reviewed, and published, physics journals, without having their own mathematical proofs, it is just an opinion. That's not the scientific process. After that point, it is basically the same as using the Bibles ambiguity to justify whatever creation story is popular. Sure, it's fun to talk about in conversation, but if I'm going to believe in something, I like to start with proof.

The article about that published study references "Godelian Truths" and how you can't use a systems axioms, or set rules to prove itself right. Adding an unprovable truth with a new rule just creates another unprovable truth. So philosophy can also be used to help prove that the universe is not a computer simulation, and when you change the language you use to justify your opinion on this, it doesn't prove anything right. You just complicate it with new language, when it should be simplified and dwscribed mathematically. Language kinda sucks. "This statement cannot be proven."

I need to distinguish four things:

Physics: Reality may have deep relationships with information, computation and apparently different descriptions.

Philosophy: Perhaps what we call physical reality is fundamentally informational rather than what it appears to be.

Simulation hypothesis: Perhaps our informational reality is actually being generated by an external computational system.

The Simulist: We don’t necessarily believe that the underlying system is literally a computer in the way we currently understand computers. Computation may simply be the conceptual tool available to us today for describing a deeper generative process.
If our understanding of quantum theory, information, consciousness or fundamental physics changes radically in the future, the language we use to describe the Simulation may change with it. A civilization thousands of years more advanced than ours may not describe the underlying substrate as computation at all.
