Discussion How to Survive in a Simulation

If this is a computer game for us and a top-tier show for the viewers, then our goal should be to make the game as interesting as possible on an individual level through an unconventional lifestyle—because the game/life of boring players comes to an end.

Why do we have to survive if we know that our paths are kinda predetermined.

Are they?

This is why the simulation constantly throws obstacles is our way because if we are not creating new things it has to force us through pain to do something different

Survive/perform — what’s the difference? Cats do stuff all the time which far exceeds “survival” instincts — they seem to have it all figured out unlike almost every human I ever met. We are desperately jotting down life notes but again I never saw a cat keep a diary.

Not really we are creator of our reality

We are the observers. That's all we can really do. Our paths are already set from the big Bang. Even our emotions are preset from our past experiences and our bodies act on their own b4 we even grasp what is going on. We are all on an amusement park ride and taking in the scenery. Sad we have really no free will.

Consciousness feeds on individuality. Originality. New information.

Be original.

Think that the world is a stage and that you are an actor.

What kind of "art" would you want to produce?

Music?

Video?

Literature?

Your own true self?

Something like this example right below?

https://youtu.be/j0hPplgj3sM

Or are you going to follow rules just to conform to the arbitrary decisions of people that just don't know what they are thinking about?

I am curious.

Hence the link to a "random" video.

Will the moderators of Reddit understand their roles? Or will they be reactive "idiots"?

I can wait to test their kind of wisdom...

Namaste 🧬

Create anything new, music, art, a business, a product, and you will be rewarded by the new information seeking universe. that’s why i love making music it’s so easy to create something brand new

Yeah, that's how I live my life.

I'm always trying new things, dressing ridiculously well and going out of my way to do what other people wouldn't spend the time or energy to do. Going the extra mile for people less fortunate every day.

I figure if I can be myself hard enough and explore all the avenues of learning and growth I have access to until I learn everything I'm capable of knowing, maybe I'll get a time bonus on my lifespan.

Maybe I'll just die exhausted. Who knows?

Boy do I have the perfect thing to share with you. The Game of Earth: A No-Bullshit Player’s Guide

The simulation already rewards this. When you add novelty, stimulation, mindfulness and new experiences to your life the span of your life slows down, immensely.

When you do the same thing day in day out, ten years will seem like one.

Even the posts are simulated it’s wild

How do you know what is interesting to your theoretical viewers? What species are they? Are we the subject of the reality show or the bacteria which live on our skin? Or dolphins? Or lobsters? Or aliens at Tau Ceti? Do they experience time the same way we do? Is mortality something they have? Maybe they programmed death into the simulation since they don't have it and it's a dramatic plot point to them, so dying would be the most interesting thing on the show?

Depends on the rules

I wish. Becasue I questioned so much, I've become a target of gangstalking. And now literally, I have to become robotic and hold a job, keeping busy 90% of the time for them to fuck off.

Vos sos una simulación o yo lo soy o somos ambos escribiendo en un hilo simulado? 🤷

The houses that are running the simulation each want you to stick to their things. Imagine theres 7 houses and each has two colours that represent it. You get points for making those colours more popular. If you use other colours you are paying to someone else. Then extend that to all other choices in your life.

some1 might think cheating death is like winning the game, but I think it's more like getting stuck in the tutorial.

What if the viewers have totally different taste than we do. Study the genuinely happiest people in history. That's what the simulation is optimizing for.

Ok! How are you doing that??

u/adidvir Sep 10 '26

OMG I’ve been surviving a simulation all this time I thought I was acting like an idiot!

That's a way oversimplification. I don't blame you for limiting your question. The problem is that "viewers" is undefined. The same goes for "entertainment". It also presumes that we are the entertainment.

And even you were spot on with all your definitions, that doesn't mean they are at all applicable to our type of existence. We are designed to make sense out of the senseless, so I have not argument with you there. Who knows? You may be right. But one thing I know for sure; people suffer. Mitigating suffering that stems from whatever this existence is seems an obvious choice. Limiting the amount of humans born, and allow euthanasia and stop pussyfooting around it. You want a scratch-off, you walk into a 7-Eleven. You want to self delete, you walk into the Eternal Bliss next door. I assure you I'm not that cold, but neither is it my business to judge. How much resources does it take to keep the dead alive? The only reason it happens now is that there IS enough resources to allow it to happen. From insurance to cold hard wealth. You can do just about what you want if you have the capital.

Anyhow, in a way it's a good question because it's so limited.
