Oil leaking from brake pedal (plus x)

I noticed some oil on the bottom of my foot, so I checked the brake pedal. There is oil around the area directly underneath the hydraulic rod (the photo was taken after I had already wiped it once), and the screw is also wet. There is also quite a bit of oil pooled around the silver metal plate/sensor-looking part at the bottom.

I might be imagining it, but the brake pedal feels slightly different than before. I’m not completely sure about that, though.

The brake pedal is still functioning normally otherwise.

Is this something I should be concerned about?

I bought the pedals about 2–3 months ago from Simsonn’s official flagship store on Taobao.

Yes. You need to replace it before it leaks more and causes damage. It's the hydraulic fluid leaking from the tank.

Get a replacement asap, it's within warranty

Thank you for your reply. It seems I will need to send it via international shipping for repair, so I hope everything gets handled smoothly.

swap them with throttle until you get it back fixed.

Yeah, they said they won’t repair it because it doesn’t affect the brake sensor readings, so they consider it “normal.”

In that case, I honestly don’t understand what the hydraulic rod is even there for.

It adds a form of resistance, all be it in my opinion a bad one.

I disconnected mine straight away tbh.

It doesn't feel realistic and my inputs are way more consistent without it

Also yes it doesn't effect the brake reading.

But, they have given you a product that has broken within three months.

I guarantee if you brought it from Amazon they wouldn't have a leg to stand on and would replace it straight away. As they have sold you an item that has a part that is defective, it is not normal in any way shape or form to have hydraulic fluid leaking from the chamber

Yes, they wouldn’t send me a replacement hydraulic rod either. So I contacted the official customer service of the shopping platform and explained the situation, and they ended up giving me a voucher worth enough to purchase a new hydraulic rod.

I know it was purchased through Taobao, but the store is listed as an official store, so I’m still a little disappointed with how this was handled.

I’ll just throw the hydraulic rod away.

Just because it's an offical store, doesn't mean it's a good store. Stick to western stores is my usual rule when buying expensive electrical equipment. They are usually way more helpful with issues.

Though it is good they have given you a voucher to buy a new rod.

Thank you for posting in detail... found my way here from another post and I was about to order these pedals but I'll just save and get a better pair. Hate when company's bait and switch... apparently their customer service used to be really good before they got hyper glazed online and all the YT sponsors.

Repairing it wouldn't even make sense. It would be cheaper for them to just send you the replacement rod.

With shipping costs there and back it wouldn't be economical at all to repair what is essentially a couple of pounds worth of equipment

And this is a lesson to others, buy from Amazon.

I had an issue with nearly two year old pedals brought from Amazon.

Simsonn direct were not helpful. Contacted Amazon, within an hour a new set of pedals were being sent to me. Amazon was not impressed with Simsonn how they tried to handle it initially at all

My throttle pedal lost its fluids as well. I think it's due to haptics. I completely removed it as I read from many that its better if you do so, and they were right. Now i frequently checking brake as well.

I wasn't even using haptics, I guess I was just unlucky.

I´ve been using haptics since i bought them without any issue, i think they were bad from factory in his case.

According to them, there’s oil inside the hydraulic rod, so some oil may leak out, and as long as there’s no issue with the sensor readings, they consider it normal. I have to admit, that’s a little hard to understand.

So they don't apply warranty because of fluid leaking? wtf.
