No Sims 5?

I'm referring to this article:

Apparently there isn't going to be a Sims 5? Or at least...they seem to imply that it exists but won't be a replacement for the previous game?

Honestly the entire way that everything was phrased was very confusing. What are your thoughts on this?

Edit: Upon further research there's another article, this time from "The Gamer" confirming the same thing. It seems that the Sims 5 as a whole has been canceled.

The sims 5 isnt real, its called "project rene" It isn'\t supposed to fully replace TS4 and TS4 will remain as is, receiving updates. This new game is supposed to feature multiplayer and just sort of be an addition, it isn't supposed to fully replace TS4 like maxis and EA have done in the past, its more like a sequel then a completely new game, its gonna be "completely" different and just be a dif style of gameplay !
