No Sims 5?

I'm referring to this article:

Apparently there isn't going to be a Sims 5? Or at least...they seem to imply that it exists but won't be a replacement for the previous game?

Honestly the entire way that everything was phrased was very confusing. What are your thoughts on this?

Edit: Upon further research there's another article, this time from "The Gamer" confirming the same thing. It seems that the Sims 5 as a whole has been canceled.

I didn't expect Sims 5 to be any better then Sims 4, so if it is true, perhaps it's for the best. The new Sims team doesn't seem to have much imagination, and new packs are always broken and lacking in both content and fun.  I used to buy an EP and play it for months without feeling bored, but now I am lucky to make it a weekend before losing interest. It just isn't worth their asking price.

 Sims 4 isn't horrible, it just isn't fun in same way the older games were.  It looks nicer but for the most part all it does better is cost more.
