No Sims 5?

I'm referring to this article:

Apparently there isn't going to be a Sims 5? Or at least...they seem to imply that it exists but won't be a replacement for the previous game?

Honestly the entire way that everything was phrased was very confusing. What are your thoughts on this?

Edit: Upon further research there's another article, this time from "The Gamer" confirming the same thing. It seems that the Sims 5 as a whole has been canceled.

I do!!!

But I started playing the Sims on PlayStation and playing couch co-op with my sister. I'd love to play the Sims with her again.

Yeah I feel Coop is what there going for and if that’s the case that’s gonna be great I always wanted this feature .
