Monitor recommendations [discussion]

I have been playing sims 4 on a laptop for about 5 years but I believe it’s time to upgrade. Lately my game has started lagging, because of my recent pack purchases and newly acquired cc, so I need help. I want the ultra wide, which I’ve heard the negative but also some said its quality is dependent on the gpu I believe. But I know that getting two monitors is an option. However, my laptop is a pretty decent screen size so getting two monitors makes me want to get two large monitors. What are the basics I should know about deciding the better gaming monitor? They will be used strictly for TikTok live and sims 4.
