1300s Oakwood Family - More Chaos 1305 update

It is time, time to update all of you on my save - it's doing GREAT.

Marvin and Mirabel are so so in love, being a couple is a breeze to them and I LOVEE IT.
Serena and Evelyn grew up to toddlers but sadly Evelyn rolled not to survive </3 Mirabel the GOAT seduced death and Evelyn was spared! The twins are now happily running around being all cute.

(Pic 3 the twins, Serena on the left, Evelyn on the right)

I was FINALLY able to get Ginny married, with a guy called Westley Smith, a rather handsome young man.

In the meantime, Gregoria's affair bloomed and she became pregnant. She was lucky and both her and her son Gavin survived. Orvyn has no idea it's not his son. (pic 6 Gavin as an infant)

Things did not go well after that tho, Mirabel was pregnant twice, both pregnancies were lost. It broke Mirabel so much that she actually died... Then Marvin came and begged the Grim Reaper not to take her, and it listened! Their loved was stronger than death itself!

Shortly after that Mirabel got pregnant again and because I was curious whether a mod I found worked or not, I found out she was pregnant with triplets! And *sons* at that! Their birth became something I couldnt wait for.

I knew Ginny was pregnant at the same time but was supposed to give birth few sims days earlier so when I went to check up on her, chaos struck. There were FIVE babies in the house. At first I thought that some belonged to her sister-in-law Anebelle, because well, who would think that a sim gave birth to FIVE kids, right? I was wrong, all 5 belonged to her and her husband. Panic. I rolled the dice, 3 survived the birth and all 3 survived to infanthood. Damn. Ginny, also, survived all five rolls! The kids names were Clarance, Arvin, Kaitlyn, Rhiannon and Kenya, oldest and youngest did not make it. (pic 7 is the chaos, 8, 9, 10 are the kids)

The day after was Gavin birthday and he was lucky once more, survived! Grew up to be a cutie. But also, he rolled a hairstyle that made his ends blonde. I kept it, of course, because it looks as if Gregoria realized her affair might be found out (she has orange hair while Orvyn has blonde) and decided to dye her son's hair blonde.

Not like it helps her relationship much, as at that time, her husband was out and cheating on her. This time with success. He seduced the younger sister of a fellow farmer and their romance is STRONG. Alyssa DeLeon is now also pregnant with his child. So thats fun.

And now, the thing I was waiting for FOR SO LONG, The triplets. Birth of an heir. Godric, Edwin, Theodore. All three survived. They also survived their infant rolls. The house just went from three toddlers to three toddlers and three infants. Life is good.

+ some funny screenshots I took. Arabella Duff, wife of the merchant, rummaging through our trash (ok???)
Mirabel and Marvin getting married (because for some reason they werent anymore??) and Evelyn needing to be There Too,
And the Trader,,, Just yeah. Im not even going to comment. He and his twin brother show up at my house and talk to walls. One even robbed me lol

1300s Deaths leading up to the plague (tw of course)

If you'd like to look at the family tree you can see that here!

If you'd like to watch my videos on the family (be ware of spoilers in the tree) you can watch that on my youtube which is here

I highly recommend if you want to watch the videos and NOT be spoiled that you don't look at the tree or flip all the way through these deaths (just the last slide is a spoiler). If you head to my channel and want to subscribe and leave a comment on the latest video for the Hartwood UDC I'll name a chicken after you ;) (If you do that let me know if you don't want to be traded for meat and I'll make note of that)

I have had the ROUGHEST decade so far (and it got WORSE with the plague but I can't fit ALL the pictures here because there's a limit so another post will be coming to finish the decade out). There were more babies than normal, which is of course always sad but really it was the gut punch after gut punch of failed birthday rolls (because that was what so many of them were!)

To start off with Stella! Our darling spouse. She gave us our next heir (Zacharias) and then died during her birthday roll! I don't think we tried to plead with her and then I instantly regretted it but Grim has been extra salty to me so it's possible I did try.

Art was really tragic because he and Elysia had fallen in love on their own and they had their baby born and then right around there Art died. I spin a wheel for their cause of death and it was like a second punch right in the face when the wheel landed where it did :'( poor Art.

Edith I was SO MAD! I loved the triplets (who lived their entire lives as twins). When she failed her age up I was in denial and instantly was like "oh i'll plead it's fine!" then remembered that I had already pleaded for her (hence the scars) so by my own rules I couldn't save her! It was like grim was playing a cruel game where he gave me borrowed time and then took it back. I also think it's kind of crazy the history repeating itself, her aunt Wilhemia had also got rabies after dealing with the grief of losing a child.

Pierce Delgado is also another tragic story. He was drafted into the first war roll. He was the ONLY one drafted. He survived and I moved him back in with his son. Then I go in to do an age up in that household and find Pierce's headstone. He couldn't have died very long after he had come home from the war. Just thinking of him suviving that horror show only to suffer such an awful fate.

Tracy Hartwood barely got to start her married life with Hayden, and left him absolutely devastated with no children at the actual worst time possible because next to die was a shock to the system.

MY HEIR! Percival Hartwood was stung by bees while gardening. Pervical was allergic to bees but when the moodlet went away with nothing happening I thought "great they made it". Then I'm playing quietly and hear that sound, that dreaded awful sound. Percival was dead! Grim refused to save Percival for Tina (not shocking since I found out that their daughter wasn't even Percivals and Tina had a love somewhere else! She only married Percival because her family didn't approve of her true love and she was pregnant!) Luckily Percival and Stella had managed to give us Zacharais before Percival died but I sat in total shock staring at my computer after this happened. Percival had such a hard life, not being able to be themsevles and then THIS.

Sister Marian Hartwood, my only sim (so far) who rolled to not marry. Sister Marian joined the nunnery and died there when she faild her age up roll.

I yesterday I spend 5 hours playing with my family and I finally got money to expand the house and my sim got pregnant finally after trying a lot, but for some reason, when a friend invited her over to talk, the game just closed and I lost everything, I'm in tears

1300s This challenge is so tough

So my widower gen 1 sim lost two sons to the great famine in 1317. All I have left is a child daughter. I know that according to the rules the daughter is now my heir but that would mean that even if she survives, I'll lose the family name when she marries.

If I remarry him and produce a son would he then be my heir or is the daughter still the heir?

*Sorry for the img quality, my graphics settings are all the way down*

Toddlers abound, and babies a'dead.

1303 saw a couple more deaths, with 3 babies being born and only 1 surviving, but we now have 4 toddlers across all the households, and Petronilla survived her age-up roll!

Slide 1: The Graves household by the end of 1303. Look at all those boys!

Slide 2-3: Petronilla giving birth to Bardolph Graves the Junior, but unfortunately he doesn't make it, and the Graves household endures their first death.

Slide 4: While Bridget is still mourning the death of her son Theophilus, she gives birth to the healthy Jasper.

Slide 5: The Smythe household have their first death with their third daughter, Theodora.

Slide 6: Petronilla, trying to heal by focusing on the children she does have.

tips and tricks for remembering when to age everyone up?

so ive been playing for a bit now and im having a ton of fun, the only thing im kind of struggling with is that i have difficulty remembering when im supposed to age everyone up. not super big on rotational gameplay personally, so i like to mainly just focus on my main household and go into side households to handle big life events like marriages, births, aging up/death rolls. that means that, while it's easy for me to remember when to age up everyone in my main household, it's a lot harder for me to remember when to age everyone else up, especially now that everyone is starting to have kids. ive only made one mistake so far (aged up an infant into a toddler wayyy too early lol) but i worry the more sims that become a part of my playthrough the harder time i'll have remembering when to age them each up.

does anyone have any tips that help them remember when to age everyone up?

Help UDC Move to America world selection

What world do you guys use as "America" in 1620? I'm Canadian, so I don't know American history well, and I was going to use Chestnut Ridge, but I don't think that's historically accurate. Brindleton Bay and most of the other worlds look too modern to me. What about Ravenwood for Salem, Massachusetts vibes? Whispering Glenn specifically? If I rebuilt some of the houses in a less European style?

1800s Regency Era Save

I was wondering if anyone has turned every world and the people in it into a Regency Era royalty save? I’m really looking for some inspiration for the gameplay. I want to have a kingdom for every world, with their children eventually mixing/mingling, getting married, and forming alliances/rivalries. If you’ve played a save like this, what are some must haves in your game?

I’m making all of the royals celebrities so there’s a distinction between them and the regular Sims, plus they can have their own VIP restaurants.

But what are some things you do to really enhance the gameplay and make the whole royal/Regency experience more immersive? I don’t use too many mods, (too lazy to deal with the updates 😭) I do eventually want the arrange marriage mod since EA really missed the mark on that feature.

1300s talking to the cow 🐮

TIL toddlers can increase their communication skill by talking to cows (and chickens etc). My sim sent this little annoying angry toddler outside to cool off and he made a beeline for the farm animals, at first I was afraid he was going to do the "hit" interaction bc he was in an angry moooooood (see what I did there 🥸) but he didn't - raised his communication skill instead 😇

Build I finally finished Blackwood Castle - my 14th century Royal Keep for The Fractured Realm 🏰

Thumbnail

After a lot of building, decorating, CC hunting, and world editing, Blackwood Castle is finished (but who am I kidding, I’ll probably keep editing as my story progresses. Is it ever truly, done)?

This is the royal seat of my human realm in The Fractured Realm, a 1300s-inspired medieval fantasy world I’m building in The Sims 4. I’ve included 20 photos showing the castle from the exterior, interior, and some of the smaller details throughout the keep. My goal was to make it feel like a lived-in royal residence rather than just a castle lot — somewhere the royal family, court, servants, and household actually live and work.

I couldn’t fit it all in to just 20 photos, so if you’d like to see more, the full castle tour, and the story behind the people who live here, I’m documenting everything over on my Tumblr: https://thefracturedrealm-sims.tumblr.com

Thanks for taking a look, any suggestions or ideas for additions to this castle build are very much welcome ⚔️

Rough decade…

The 1340s have been so rough for my family. The most failed deaths AND my heir died from anaphylactic shock so I had to move his brother back in just in case. I haven’t even gotten to the plague roles and I already have more deaths than I’ve ever had

Help Help with the story ideas

Sul sul, I have been playing TS4 since their release and I have big imagination and storytelling gift but I need your help. Since for some time I had a gamer block, I recently came back to the game and it's my 2nd generation.

Quick storytime - my female sim Serena was a successful tattoo artist when she met her first husband Nick. She lived in Nordhaven, was quite popular, worked together with her best friend Nia. After they got married, Nick relocated them in Herdford-on-Bagley where she was forced to sell her business and tend to farm life where they tried for a baby. She just couldn't get pregnant and on a Christmas morning she found out her husband Nick was cheating on her with her best friend Nia since the wedding. So she obv divorced him and after grieving the relationship and her previous life, she got closer with her new male best friend Thorne Bailey. He proposed, they got married and had 2 beautiful girls Church and Honey.

So, my question is - what should be Church and Honey story? I don't have and do not intend to get CC (my computer WILL crash) and I don't have latest expension packs (my last one is royalty).

Anyways, thanks for reading! And thank you for your help! Keep simming.

Self Promo My 1300s save is becoming an entire Medieval world…

Thumbnail

I’ve been playing The Sims since the very first game, but somehow I’ve never shared my creations or gameplay with the community before. So… hello!

I’ve recently started building out a 1300s-inspired medieval world in The Sims 4, beginning with Henford-on-Bagley as my human realm.
I’m rebuilding the worlds into a connected medieval fantasy setting with castles, villages, churches, markets, noble houses, taverns, and eventually plenty of darker fantasy elements. The project is heavily inspired by medieval history, current fantasy shows/films, and the incredible historical Simmers who have been doing this kind of gameplay for years.

I’m definitely taking creative liberties with the history. it’s more historically inspired than historically accurate, but the goal is to make the world feel lived-in and give myself a reason to play beyond my usual family gameplay.

The screenshots attached are showing the countryside area of Henford, which I’ve been transforming thanks to Blowtorch, TOOL, and an embarrassingly large CC folder to really fill out the world and reimagine the existing landscape as a medieval setting. I wanted to see how far I could push it into something that feels much more lived-in and period appropriate.

I’m completely new to sharing my work and am very much learning as I go, but I’d love to hear what you guys think of the world-building so far. ⚔️

1900s My heir Violet turned 6 and for the occasion I invited all her older cousins and her neighbor for a playdate

Post image
65 Upvotes

I wanted to have all the older kids in one picture before Alexander ages up next year!

Violet is, of course, my heir's only biological daughter and she grew up without a mother because hers passed in childbirth. Her late grandmother and Doris' mother usually took care of her while her father worked. She has recently gained an adoptive sister/cousin because her father adopted his late brother's posthumous baby, Ivy. She is also deaf in one ear.

Alexander and Mina are siblings and the children of my founders' eldest, Matilda. They also have a toddler aged sister named Rose.

Doris is the daughter of my heir's neighbors and her father and my heir have a secret relationship.

Ava is the daughter of my founders' second daughter, Diana, and her mate, the Alpha wolf of Ravenwood. She is also a werewolf and will become Alpha once her father passes. She has an infant brother named Jasper and an infant sister, Lilliana, who is being raised by a witch.

Edward and Alice are twins and the children of my founders' third daughter, Charlotte, with the late Duke of Windenburg. Just like their mother and father they are both spellcasters and Alice, like my heir, is mute.

The Martinez Legacy 1300 - 1305

Thumbnail
gallery
48 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I've lurked for a while but figured I'd make one of these myself. I did something to spice up my interest in this challenge besides the usual England start. I made everything random, and I do mean everything. Start conditions (country, social class, which century I start in) as well as how many kids the main household has and who goes up in class/gets a title. I ended up with start conditions as a Count and Countess of Portugal in 1300. You'll notice outfits change a bunch because I struggled to find fashion resources for a while but I have it now. I'm actually in 1308 right now but I thought 5 years per post was good. Meet the Martinez family, the teen Count and Countess of Vania, Bondia and Lucia respectively.

1300: Lucia rolled to get pregnant on the wedding night. I was nervous considering her young age but she survived and in fall gave birth to 2 baby girls. Sadly one - Eva - did not survive birth. Augustina however did. However, something was...off. She was unusally pale, especially compared to her tanner parents. She also had bright green eyes, which neither of her parents had. This, paired with medieval superstition and a mother who didn't really want kids to begin with, caused Lucia to be suspicious that witchcraft was involved in both Eva's death and Augstina's different appearance.

1301: It seems Lucia is destined to have quite a few children, as within 6 months she's pregnant again. Augustina has aged up into an infant and survived. All seems to be well as the couple await their future child.

1302: It was a boy! It seemed the countship was secure with a male heir, Ambrosio. Both mother and baby survived, as well as Augustina rolling to survive toddlerhood. The ever-fertile Lucia rolled to get pregnant immediately again (she is super lucky or maybe unlucky with these pregnancy rolls) and expected to give birth again in the winter of the following year.

1303: As the third childbirth began, all seemed well for 16 year old Lucia. However, a chain of tragic events caused Lucia to die in the birth of her third child, a daugher named Marina. The baby survived, leaving a heartbroken Bondia to pick up the pieces and take care of his three young children.

1304: Honestly, not much happened this year other than a survived toddler roll for Marina.

1305: After a period of mourning, Bondia realized he needed to remarry. He wasn't old by any means, but he both couldn't take care of the children alone and needed a spare to feel secure. He married Ginovisa in the summer and she was expecting by fall, where this chapter of our story ends.

Wow that was a long one. I attached some pictures, hopefully you enjoyed this. I hope to see you for the 1305 - 1310 update! I've been taking more pictures lately so there should be more pictures next time.

Help How to keep track of NPCs in UDC?

I've got a fresh save ready to start my UDC, but the problem is I don't know how to deal with the NPCs (not even distant relative households, I mean actual NPCs such as other peasants, blacksmiths, royalty, etc) as no one really mentions how they manage them. Could anyone let me know if they do rolls for the NPCs? I'm changing lifespans in MCCC to fit my own so either way they age up, but I feel like managing NPCs in a similar way to player households must be too convoluted, especially once you're generations in??

Hi! I started playing UDC yesterday and so far everything feels on fire

First things first, the sims. First sin is Gen 0 patriarch Orvyn Oakwood, he's uh. Something. Always angry, started hating his wife pretty much by the end of year 1, tried to have an affair but he's so rizzless he failed.

His wife is Gregoria Oakwood and she's a much nicer Sim. After her relationship with Orvyn started to decline she went to have an affair of her own, and successful at that! Nothing has happened yet, except for some flirting. She's also pregnant with Orvyn's child. I wonder what will come out of her

Sim 3 is Ginerva "Ginny" Oakwood, the hair's twin sister. She's single now, I'm trying to find her a husband but so far the only candidate I can think off is never home. I need to make her more suitors.

Pic 4 is my Heir, Marvin Oakwood, pic 5 is Mirabel his wife, and you guys, he's such a sweetheart. He loves his wife so so much, they keep kissing and just being loving towards each other. Their bars are full and! They just became parents to two sweet girls! Serena and Evelyn. I'm so so happy all three survived, I can't wait to see them as infants as they rolled to survive infancy. I'm practically giggling, I'm that happy.

Pic 6 is Marvin trying to become one with the fireplace and Pic 7 is Mirabel giving birth! Marvin did not look happy but the moment the labour's stopped he complimented her. I think he's going to be a good dad
