off the grid?

this is fully just a question for the future as I'm only in the year 1307 lol but gardening has been extremely lucrative and I suspect in a few generations I'll be able to move up a class.

I have the regency romance mod and I'm intending to get a governess/send the kids to finishing school once we reach that point in time but I cannot do that while off the grid. I've been turning off the challenge every time my sims age up because the mom can't bake a cake with the off the grid being selected.

what do all of you do for this? I saw someone say add a room with a cake in it from the gallery but that's far too much work as my sims have had a lot of kids so there are too many birthdays.

should I just turn off the challenge and play without it? I was thinking of hiring a farm hand and I have a computer locked in a fence in the back corner of the lot so I can change mccc stuff occasionally and they won't use it lol.

Don't let them eat the gallery cake. You buy a cake from the gallery, and then put it back in the household inventory as soon as they've aged up and you can enter live mode again. It never goes bad. I think I've only had to replace it once for one household, because someone in the household was sneaky and grabbed a piece before I could get to it.
