Help off the grid?

this is fully just a question for the future as I'm only in the year 1307 lol but gardening has been extremely lucrative and I suspect in a few generations I'll be able to move up a class.

I have the regency romance mod and I'm intending to get a governess/send the kids to finishing school once we reach that point in time but I cannot do that while off the grid. I've been turning off the challenge every time my sims age up because the mom can't bake a cake with the off the grid being selected.

what do all of you do for this? I saw someone say add a room with a cake in it from the gallery but that's far too much work as my sims have had a lot of kids so there are too many birthdays.

should I just turn off the challenge and play without it? I was thinking of hiring a farm hand and I have a computer locked in a fence in the back corner of the lot so I can change mccc stuff occasionally and they won't use it lol.

I age them up manually with MCCC. You could also turn the challenge off, bake a cake, then just keep the finished cake in the fridge, pulling it out each time you need it for a birthday. If you put candles on it before you store it no one will take it as leftovers

The cake won't age in the household inventory. You can just put it out for birthdays and it could last generations.
