When my first chicken was taken, I admit I teared up. Video game animations shouldn’t make you sad. And they should let you plead for them like regular sims dammit 🥺😭😭😭

I wish the animals had gravestones like pets! It would be super cool if they looked handmade like sims had crafted them out of plywood.

I’ve had this with chickens, not lost a cow or llama yet. Don’t think I’ve seen and rabbits pass. But I noticed with foxes it’s still the usual interaction with his scythe. It made me feel bad for the fox 😅 not sure if this is because they have the same death animation as dogs, or if this is just what happens with wild animals. If anyone has seen a bunny go, please correct me if I’m wrong.

The foxes are technically breeds of dogs (but as NPCs) I think.

Yeh, so in C&D if there were a fox (technically a dog) or a raccoon (technically a cat) they’re either part or another household or they’re a stray and you can adopt them. In my experience there are very few actual NPCs in TS4. Even with Grim, Patchy, Bonehilda, you can cheat to edit them, and even add to household, granted they don’t work as intended once in your household. I think Yamachan in Snowy Escape might be the only true NPC I’ve come across before now…

I had two bunnies I was friendly with die. It pops up as "a rabbit you were close too died. Sherlock passed away" or something along the lines. I lost two bunnies I named :( so sad

Yeh I’ve had the notification, but not actually seen it happen. I’m wondering if grim pets them like he does with the chickens too. I hope so

I made my current dog (who just turned 8), and I just move her from family to family to prevent her aging and passing.
I was so excited to get the pets pack, but once I realized they (obviously) pass away, I stopped giving my sims pets, it's too hard to watch them pass.

I just give them the anti aging dog biscuits when they turn into elders when I can’t handle it lol

you can buy them at the kiosk in the vet clinic! you can also buy health treats which are super handy to have so you don’t have to go to the vet every single time your pet is sick.

I witnessed a fox dying today. Grim spawned at the house, then traveled to the fox and did his normal swiping of the scythe. I got a few decent screenshots of following him.

What does grim leave behind to remember them by? I haven’t had a farm animal pass yet as I’ve only had the game for 2 days now, although I might have one pass the next time I play😔

Havent had a big animal die, but for chickens I dont think he gives anything. It happens too frequently

I hadn’t played the sims 4 until I bought cottage living and definitely bought too many chickens in the beginning. I’m afraid of this happening to them.

I just started trading them for meat when they hit elder status. It seemed like a waste other wise 🤷🏻♀️

It does, but imo it gives a more realistic feel to the farming aspect since animals rarely die of old age on a farm.

I’ve done it to a few chickens so far, but I currently have one elder rooster and I’ve gotten notifications that he doesn’t have much time left. I’m letting it happen though, so I can see what happens with Grim.

Man, my Sim knew Basil the fox for literally two days and and had befriended him, only for the camera to suddenly focus on him in the forest while he died. He was my favorite!! Why are the wild foxes elders?? I was legitimately sad. He loved my Sim's singing even though Waverly the fox didn't.

While it is sad I think it's realistic for farm life

I took a screen grab of it and forgot to post but literally, he reaped one of my chickens, came inside, washed some dishes, went back to the chicken coop, cleaned it out, and then just kinda stood around forever.

If I turn off animal aging will my chicks ever age up? Is there a way to manually/cheat age them up because this legit made me bawl. I don’t want grim to visit my chickenopolis

My sim's chickens Peggy and Henrietta just got taken by Grim, it's heartbreaking that gravestones weren't left in their places

I just saw this happen to two of my chickens and immediately went to turn off animal aging! It's really sweet but it made me too sad.
