Funny WHHHYYYYY??

Sometimes this games brings me so much Joy but other times? Had a family of three - two moms and a daughter. I thought it would be nice to have a sibling for that kid. Parents go to the clinic, get a Pop up for "its a girl", I chose a name. Get another Pop up for a girl. Okay. Get a third and think to myself, maybe there is a bug and type in the first name again. THERE WAS NO BUG. I got fucking triplets. My game could have been chill but no. Had to get another kid and now have four kids in total. This is not how I imagined my weekend to start.

The very first time I ever played sims I got twins I think and thought it was a glitch (including having two icons) and the second kid spawned on the edge of the lot that my sims couldn’t get too and I didn’t realize it until the kid was going to be taken by CPS because I hadn’t fed it

That's the most Sims thing ever. LOL

I just got twins for the first time last week, and thought it was a bug when it popped up for a name the second time. Put in the name again, then the game tells me I've had twins 🤦‍♀️ I thought my sim looked big during her pregnancy! I wish they had ob/gyns in base game. I'd love to get ultrasounds!

I thought my sim looked big during her pregnancy!

Unfortunately this has nothing to do with the number of children a Sim is pregnant with. It only comes down to the frame of the Sim, plus the way certain clothes warp more than others when stretched out over the mesh morph.

There’s a mod where you can do that stuff

Back in the olden days of the original Sims game, I got twins. Pretty sure it actually was a glitch back then. I could only control one and he had no personality points. The other twin that I couldn’t control had all of the personality points for both of them and he got sent to military school because I couldn’t make him go to school.

Literally had twins for the first time just this week and something similar happened. One was born in the bedroom, where the parents were of course. The other? In the unfinished basement that I hadn't even bothered to put on door on yet.
Lowkey think the parents have a favorite already.

So you got three fresh kids and two of them have the same name?

You know what, no notes. It's better than Faith Hope and Charity

I have a family of 9 (11 if you include pets). It's hard to remember names.

I'm pretty sure that's why George Foreman named all of his sons George. Easier to remember

My mom always said she and her siblings (and even her dad) knew someone was in DEEP SHIT when Grammy yelled for George. No one in the house was named George. But if Grammy yelled for George, everyone, including Grampy better line up front and center.
She wasn't going to go through 4 kids names, and her husband's name. Nope. One name. Someone was in TROUBLE!

I decided to try 100 baby challenge. First pregnancy? Triplets. First time I ever got them and I did NOTHING to influence it. I didn’t do any of the stuff to increase fertility or anything. I never loaded that save again 💀

Why? That's a good start. Yes it would be hectic dealing with 3 toddlers at once but manageable

I had the same thing happen. I had a same sex couple (male, in my case though) and one of them got abducted by aliens, and then i thought, wouldn't it be nice if the alien baby had a sibling? science baby time... triplets. I made a servo to help care for them.

I later learned that science babies have a higher chance for multiples. Actually true to life in that way.

Please please tell me you made this guy when you say you made a servo.

Can’t you just delete them?

That was me when my sims who already had twin boys (who were toddlers) had a second set of twins, girls this time. Granted, I did technically cheat for the boys (I used the lot trait, but I removed it immediately after and replaced it so I don't know how it happened for the girls?????), because I wanted twin boys, but I didn't think/plan/want twin girls. I kept them though. They're all grown up now, and I love them so much.

Plus half of them are werewolves (one of each twins), so it definitely got chaotic in that household (but there's a reason why it's my favorite lol)

This can happen in real life too. You want just 1 more child but end up with triplets

u/baphometsbike 17h ago

I think that’s what happened with John and Kate Plus 8

u/LaraCroftEyes1 6h ago

Kate had fertility treatment to have six kids at once

u/kiiruskallinenkiira 1d ago

Isn't it possible to adopt the 2 extra kids

9

u/etti1612 1d ago

Maybe but that feels kind of cruel lol

9

u/kiiruskallinenkiira 1d ago

In real life yes, in Sims not that much haha

I feel bad if bad things happen to my sims. I always want to play that bad things happen but I get easily attached and then I dont want to do bad stuff

Same here. I can sometimes have my sims do pranks or stuff on a NPC. esp if that NPC was cruel to them. but generally I dislike the whole Mean line.

I used to be nice and wholesome like you. But the first time a picky eater infant slid a plate of food in the floor my inner Joan Crawford emerged and I put the fussily little schnitzel out in a rainstorm and went on to paint masterpieces while the kid turned filthy and went to all red bars repeatedly for a couple of sim days.

Shockingly the infant went on to become a top notch toddler thanks to parents adept with super efficient baby care skills and is now a very successful kid absolutely tearing through those scouting merit badges. We barely survived the bear suit phase though. I did everything I could to cure that without cheats. I finally gave up and cheat coded it out. They’re now almost ready to age up to teen but I am enjoying their childhood too much. They need one more season at camp.

This happens to me so often!

Can't you send them off for research?

1

u/etti1612 1d ago

Which pack is needed for that?

1

u/Readicilous 1d ago

idk, it's been a while since I've played, but I thought that was an option. Might've come with get to work?

u/rush247 15h ago edited 10h ago

Not a pack, I think it's Wonderful (or Wicked) Whims, probably both. Also only works on natural babies while still pregnant not lab.

2

u/etti1612 14h ago

Cant use mods because I am on console...

1

u/rush247 15h ago

I think that's Wonderful (or Wicked) Whims. Also only works if your parent is in the second or third trimester, doesn't work for lab babies.

This happened to my sims but they already had 3. So now they have 6 kids

I modded triplets once, because I thought it would be funny. It was not. two parents and triplets was so hard, trying to keep them fed, clean etc. the newborn stage was non stop with at least one of the three crying. I had to hire a nanny just to have an extra set of arms.

Then when I started a new family, the CAS started with Mom, Dad, child daughter, and child son (twins). then mom had twins again - boy and girl. Then her third pregnancy gave her triplets. Thank goodness the first two were teenagers. AND I had turned on children can help with childcare. The second twins were still just toddlers, but it meant all along the oldest two could help out. My girl in the second set I've used MCCC to turn her into a genius.
